Colors of the Rainbow
Good day everyone! Hope you all had a Happy Easter with your families. We've heard some interesting stories from some of our Buds friends. Some of us went to this special place and looked for eggs. They said they found two eggs while hunting around the area. Also, they did some coloring and putting decorations on the Easter eggs. Easter Sunday was always amazing to celebrate with our young Buds.
Table Activities
Liezel prepared some cutting materials that we could do with our friends. The paper cut-outs got some lines that we could follow, and recently, we had become very interested in cutting, so it was a great opportunity for us to snip different shapes and lines as drawn on our unique pieces of paper. We spent a good amount of time as we always enjoyed using our guided scissors. After that, we had some glue sticks that we used to spread all over the page of our portfolio book. A few of us could already cut in advance because we could create shapes such as triangles and squares.
We also had so much fun with our playdough activities. We mixed up the various herbs such as mint, rosemary, and dill into the play dough. The texture became so different from before, and the smell was quite exquisite. After playing with the playdough, our hands smelled so good. We felt we didn't want to wash our hands.
The last table continued our extraordinary artwork "Flowers in the Midnight Sky." This time, we put the golden glitters with glue. After we had done the sprinkling, the whole picture looked shiny and bright. We even had some stickers, and we called them "jewels." We spread all of them around. Slowly, we completed all the stickers, and the whole artwork turned into a sparkly masterpiece.
The floor was full of instruments and Lego blocks. We did some buildings and played some music with our friends. The guitar music was always something we would like to listen to in the classroom. We even took out some drums and sticks and started beating them according to the rhythm. Our favorite songs we played were "Everybody" by Backstreet Boys and other classical songs such as ABC, Baa, Baa, Black sheep, and Papurika.
After that fun music session, we stayed with our friends and teachers. The first thing we did was to learn more about our names. We put our names above our heads and swayed it from side to side. When we had our turn, we said our names in a very loud voice to be acknowledged that we were here in Buds' class.
After learning more about our names, we took out the book called "Planting a rainbow." It was nice to review our colors because the flowers were so beautiful, and they also exhibited various colors that we could compare with shirts and pants, and socks. Then, we even walked around the classroom and found some things in the following colors: A red chair, an orange circle, a yellow digger, a green jacket, a blue book, pink pants, a purple sweater, and a brown basket. How amazing we were! Learning about colors is easier as long as we can see and touch them.
When it was time to go and wash our hands, some of us read a book called "I need a WEE!" Everyone was so into it, and we all knew that we couldn't pee in the cup (as the book said), but instead, we always had to remember that we needed to pee in the toilet.
Pond and Temple Visits
We quickly visited the pond, but the water was murky, and we couldn't see any tadpoles. However, it was nice to go around the pond and experiment with water while we threw some stones and dried leaves. We saw Petals class having a great time exploring the whole vicinity of the temple. It was entertaining, and in the end, we got hungry and needed to grab our lunch as soon as possible.
Thank you so much, Ohana, and have a great day!
Lots of love,
All the children from Buds Class 2022
