It's Tamara's Birthday!

Good day friends! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! Our teachers had a restful weekend, and they got energized for another beautiful week at Ohana. Today, the weather was quite warm, and Mr. Sun was happy to shine so brightly. Our friends came in with bright faces and were ready for a great day!

Table Activities

We loved using the play dough in the classroom, but we used a harder clay today. It challenged our fine motor skills, and we used the tools. We indeed pressed the clay down hard and used the rolling pin as much as possible. Amazingly, we were able to create amazing things with it. We rolled the clay and turned it into a ball. We flattened it and used some cookie cutters in making some figures. Some of us made long clay and put them in the pot to make some pasta. We mixed the materials such as blocks, clay, and kitchen utensils. Our friends also discovered the grills. We rolled the ball and made some long strips, and pretended that they were vegetables that we were cooking in the kitchen area.

Flowers in the Midnight Sky

We worked hard on creating this masterpiece. First, we used a lot of yarn and made streaks of lines around the black canvas. We used white and yellow to accentuate contrast, and then after that, we used bright and warm color crayons to provide a luminous and chalky effect on it. It took us a while to make these beautiful patterns, and it was good to see how much we have grown with our friends in creating art and patterns using various sensory and art materials.

Table with puzzles

Recently, we got interested in colors and started doing our colorful puzzles. These were seven sets of 6-piece jigsaw puzzles, and we’re proud to say that we could accomplish it efficiently.

Circle time

First, we gathered around and made some amazing sounds with our bodies. We clapped our hands, tapped our legs, and patted our heads. We all sat down and sang the Good morning song. After that, John began a story about Spot’s birthday party. It was an interesting book as we also learned about various animals hiding in different parts of the house.

Then, we sang a big happy birthday to Tamara. She was a bit surprised to hear our beautiful songs, and we gave her the card we made, and of course, our big hugs never failed to make her smile. We then sang songs such as “Skidamarink” and “Everybody” by Backstreet Boys. We changed the words to Happy birthday, Tamara. Indeed, everybody danced around and had a beautiful birthday celebration.

Park time is a fun time

The sun was up, and it was pretty warm. We didn’t have to wear our coats and jackets as we all expected that it would be a hot day. We ran around and played hide-and-seek. After that, we also played the game called, What’s the time, Mr. Wolf.

Thank you so much, and have a great day!

Lots of love,

All the children from Buds Class 2022
