Petal's Haunted House

Hello Wednesday! 

Good morning Petals class! We had lots of fun during free play time! With Nimo, we made birthday cards for our friends. We used many colors and it turned out to be very colorful cards.  The play area was very busy with making “something”…”What are you doing?” We asked Sayaka. She had two big cardboard boxes and was trying to connect them together. “Can I help you?” Callie asked her. Sayaka seemed very busy getting the boxes set up. Then C had an idea…she went inside the cardboard and said, “Boo!” “I can go inside you know?” She added. Then other friends joined C, “What are you doing?”, they also asked her. Sayaka finally told us that the box will be Petals haunted house! “Halloweeeeeeen!”, we were so excited. While we were waiting for her to finish cutting, we played with cars and Mr. Potatohead. When she was finished making the house, we went inside the haunted house. The house is very wobbly, but we liked it very much. J, G, C, and K went inside. “Are you ready to paint?” Sayaka asked us. Of course we were and we quickly grabbed our paint brushes. “Can R join paint, please?” R asked politely as she joined painting. Let us share our idea for the house.

 
G-We need windows for the house because no window here.
C-How about the door? We can also put handle for the door *Then we did stick the handle. C told Sayaka where she wanted to stick.
K-Spider? Inside house?
R-Scary house. Maybe ghost? *We might add some ghosts after we finish painting.
J-We need to paint. Black is ok. *Sayaka had an idea to paint with black.

We haven’t finished painting today so we share more ideas for the haunted house. It will be ready by party day. We hope our mommies and daddies like our house.

After we finished our snack time, we had a very short conversation about fire drills. Sayaka asked us what we should do when there is a fire drill.

G-Cover mouth *He covered his mouth with his t-shirts.* Call ambulance.
K-Shhhhh 

R-Walking feet.
C-Wait for mom and dad.
Sayaka-Yes, you are right. When you are at school, you need to be with Nimo and/or Sayaka.
R-Then my mommy and daddy come.
Sayaka-Yes, when it’s a real emergency, you wait for mommy and daddy with Nimo and Sayaka.

At the park, we had lots of running time. You know what, we caught Nimo today! Yay! Not giving up was the key! We always have fun during park time.

After we came back, we did today’s circle time. There were exciting events in October. One is Halloween and the other one is sweet potato digging. Nimo borrowed the special kamishibai from flowers class (paper drama) and Sayaka read it today. The story taught us how the sweet potatoes grow and how we dig them.
K-I like potato.
G-Cut cut cut cut.
Sayaka asked what we did yesterday with Nimo. Then asked us what was the color inside the potatoes.

S-Yellow!
G-Red.
J-Blue.
K-I think blue potato.

R-Chairo, black…brown.
C-Brown, I love sweet potato. Use our muscles to dig!
We are ready for sweet potato digging, and eating them!

C-Itadakimasu!
R-And eat!
