Sports Day

Why Are We Having Snacks Early?!?

“Huh?”… we all had a confused look on our face when our teachers asked us to get our snacks right after washing our hands. Uhmm…. aren’t we supposed to have Free Play first? And why are the screen shields up already? So we went on ahead with our teachers’ instruction and kept on hearing the phrases, “Get ready for Sports Day!” and “We’re going to have a long walk!” And what a treat… Goh San is here too!

While we wait for our friends to arrive and finish their snacks, our teachers help us get in the mood by practicing our Sports Day cheer. Singing it to the tune of “Baby Shark” sure did help us recall the lyrics!

Why Aren’t We Headed to the Park?!?

By 9:15, we were all ready to go out. We went on our usual route to the park but wait… why are we passing by the park?!? Teachers! Something seems strange! This walk seems to be a long one… with lots of long uphills and downhills but we were such good troopers! All of us were in good spirits, thanks to the beautiful weather, our full tummies, and lots of interesting new things to see around.

It is interesting to note that during the entire walk, all of us noticed the moon that can be clearly seen up in the beautiful blue sky.

Sports Day

When we arrived at the entrance of the baseball field in Arisugawa Park, we patiently waited for everyone to use the restroom. While waiting, we got to hear the cheers of both Petals and Flowers classes. We had our competitive hats on but the spirit of camaraderie was strong amongst the classes when we all sang along and clapped at each other’s chant.

When we entered the baseball field, we carried our banner, did our chant, and walked on over to our designated mat. After everyone have entered the field, everyone cooperated when Micky the photographer asked us to pose for a school group shot! Hope everyone had their smiling faces on the same time.

Race to the Blue Line

The first activity that was in line was racing! Each class had to divide into two groups so everyone had enough space to run. For our class, we were divided based on our height. So our taller friends H, R, T, C, A, and J were grouped together and the other group consisted of K, KZ, J, P, and S.

We had our listening ears on the whole time and only started running when we heard the blow of the whistle. Some of us even ran way beyond the finish line!

After the race, our groups were separated and were asked to go to different stations.

Flying Parachute

We had so much fun with Liezel and Tamara in using the parachute… especially for our younger friends! It was a wonderful feeling going underneath it and seeing our hair go up due to air. But ooops, we had to be cautious when darting underneath as we might hit each other’s heads.

Kaki No Ki

We finally got to see our kaki tree and balls out in the field! Funny how instead of aiming to have the khaki ball stick to the tree, we threw it up in the air… like we were having a kaki party! Since we were the ones who made the materials, a few of us unwrapped the kaki balls!

Spider Tug of War

Tug of war was such a fun game! It was fun pulling the rope from each end and seeing how strong our opponents were. We all said, “One more time, please!” after each successful attempt.

Mat Sumo

Erika and Nanako were surprised as they did not expect us to be super strong when pushing down the mat ! We knocked them both down! 💪 Needless to say, this was one of our most favorite games as it was fun to run towards the mat and fall on it!

We had another round of racing to the blue finish line all together. After that, we started our journey back to school as lunch time was nearing. When we arrived back in school, we were given several minutes to rest after almost half an hour of walking! With the Olympics theme song playing, we all received our well deserved medals and were proud of ourselves!

We all had a good appetite for lunch and everyone fell asleep in a span of 15 minutes!

We hope you all are having a lovely Wednesday and remember, each one of us is a champion in our own special way.

Love,
Buds Class Children
