Animals in action

Good morning, everyone! What a nice day again and we had so much fun playing with the various animal toys that we have on the floor. There were some sensory mats that we always love touching and making sense of the world around us.

Table Activities

Painting with the Mesh Dabber

In Buds, we always love doing art and exploring the materials we use in creating our masterpieces. Today, we absolutely enjoyed using the mesh dabbers we got in the classroom and started making patterns using our favorite colors. Some of our friends had their own preferred mesh dabbers. They went around the canvas and we made beautiful patterns and designs. It was also nice experience for us to control our fingers and hands. We also learned mixing colors but for us Buds children we were more explorative and experimental because we always want to understand how the world works around us.

More sensory materials presented

On our table, we found lots of sensory materials such as colorful feathers, rocks, sensory mats, popsicle sticks and small sticks. Our friends were so creative that they wanted to mix the media altogether to make pancakes, a cake and ice cream. We love making something out of nothing and just take our imagination all the way.

Balcony play with Duplo blocks

The balcony was also busy because we used it as our extension of our classroom. The feeling of being outside gave us more room to explore and enjoy more of our surroundings. It was really nice to see how our friends got so settled and they wanted to spend more time together. The Duplo blocks gave us more fun because we had to create some figures that we could play with. Today, our friends decided to make a camera, so we had a photographer in the classroom, and he started going around pretending that he was taking nice shots of all of our friends.

Music Session with John

Before our circle time, John took out his guitar and started playing our favorite songs. Today, we requested songs that we would like to sing and even created our own song. However, we noticed while John was playing, “Head, shoulders, knees and toes”, he suddenly fell asleep and stopped playing the guitar. We went close to him and tried to wake him up and then all of a sudden, he started playing with music again.

Circle time with Liezel

It was time for movement with Liezel. First, she played something from the speakers and it was a musical piece that had various feelings and tempo. When the beat was a bit fast, we ran and walked around the room. We even flew, tiptoed, walked like a robot and did a tap dance. It was really good for us because we used our ears a lot more and understood how the music can connect with movement and our bodies just responded positively to it.

Next, we also played a game wherein there were some animal toys hanging from a wooder hanger and we started jumping around the classroom. We jumped as high as we could until we got our own toys. We also played some songs while dancing to our animal toys.

A walk around the neighborhood

We held onto our rope and went around the neighborhood. Shelley was also with us and she helped us out to walk with our friends altogether. We just stayed out for a few minutes and went back to our classroom again to spend more time playing and learning together with our Buds friends and teachers.

Lots of love,

All the children from Buds class 2021-2022
