Ending the first Week With a Bang!

It’s already the end of our first week in the new school year! Today we looked at the Petals Class guidelines with pictures to determine which ones are good to do and which ones we shouldn’t do in class. Kai had different colors on the floor which we took turns turning over to see the pictures. When we turned over the picture we showed our friends what it was and determined if it’s part of our classroom rules. We said “Bing Bong!” with a big thumbs up if the pictures matched our guidelines for the class and “Boo Boo!” with a thumbs down if it is something we should avoid. If it was a “bing bong” then we stuck it on the wall under the guidelines. If it was a “boo boo” we put it in the red box on the very bottom of the wall. We had pictures of people sitting and talking, walking, shouting at each other, pulling toys, sharing, turning the page, holding an egg, running indoors, not making eye contact when someone is talking to them and passing toys to a friend. We gave our friends a big clap after they stuck the picture on the wall. We hope this will help us remember how to respect everything around us and be safe in the classroom.

In the early morning when we came to Petals Class we played on the table with a wooden car with nuts and bolts on it and safari animals and a map on the table. We saw the teacher cut out something and glue it and decided we also wanted to glue. In our Petals Garden we played with magnetic geometric shapes on the table and we filled the insect box with rocks. At the open play area we played with Lego, cars and Sayaka was reading a book if we wanted to join in.

Today was a hot day but we still wanted to go to the park. Since it was so hot we took the spray bottle with us. The teacher misted us while we walked to the park and we thought it was raining and loved it. We kept saying, “One more time please!” At the park we ran around the green area and played with the spray bottle. It was hot and sweaty but still lots of fun! That’s it for us today, we hope you’ve had a wonderful day and an even better weekend!

XOXO,
