August 26 – Our Fun Farm Animals

August 26 – Our Fun Farm Animals

Good day friends!

We started our day with lots of fun table activities. Today, we got some sensory materials on the table and one of our favorite things to do was to play with sand together with the animal figurines prepared on the table. Our new friends were so engaged and they loved exploring and discovering new ways on how to manipulate these things. Some of us loved to squish the sand with our hands. There’s an artificial grass on table and the whole scenario felt like that we are really in the farm.

Making animal puppets using cup and patterned animal prints

We’ve got some cow spots, zebra stripes, jaguar circles and giraffe streaks on the table. Liezel was very kind and she sat with us and showed us how to do it. We got a tub of glue and a paintbrush. We spread the glue all over the cup and pasted the animal prints on them. There were some goggly eyes that we also included and it was great to see how we could accomplish it with so much ease.

Exploring, drawing and matching colors

On the floor, we prepared some scribbling materials such as paper, crayons and pencils. Our friends enjoyed making patterns and shapes. We also noticed that we could match the colors of our crayons. We also took out some Lego blocks and some trains that we connected with our friends.

Circle time

We gathered around and sang songs with our friends. We kicked our feet, jumped up high, clapped our hands and shook our hips over and over again. After a great singing session, we all sat down and John brought out some puppet animals such deer, cow, chicken and many more. We also read the book called “Say hello to the animals”. In this book, we also learned the different animal sounds.

Lastly, we took out some jingle bells and played music with the guitar. It was really nice to see how active we are in the classroom. Dancing and singing are a big part of our Ohana learning experience.

It is perfect timing to learn about the animals because our interest has sparked more of our learning in the classroom. Thank you so much teachers for giving us more opportunity to learn.

Lots of love,
All the children from Buds Class
