Free Play

This morning was full of role play and creativity. We asked Sayaka to be a horse/ bear and she pretended she was going to eat us. Some of us took rides on the horse/ bear. While playing with blocks we saw one that looked a little bit like a fishing rod. We fished with the fishing rod into the box and pulled out “chicken legs”, “chicken wings” and “bats” We pretended to eat them and they were delicious! On the tables we had matching puzzles and materials to make bracelets and rings. On top of that some friends wanted to draw and make art so we turned the table into a studio. It was an enjoyable morning using our imagination.

My Mommy

 We started the circle with some movement and asked N to check the weather. “It’s cloudy and cold”, he said. Yay so that means we can go to the park! But do we need our jackets since it’s cold? No, so we learnt a new word “cool” which we can use for “a little bit cold.”

We talked about a special day that’s coming up on Sunday. Kai tried to draw a picture for us to guess what the special day was but… we couldn’t quite get it. Then someone called out, “Mommy!”. Yes it’s Mother’s Day on Sunday. Speaking about our moms, Kai asked us what we thought our moms do for us or what they do after they drop us off. Our answers are very intriguing:

S-My mom works, my mom shops sometimes. Sometimes she cooks and sometimes lets us to watch T.V. Sometimes we can play video game.

D-In the house. She vacuums. (We heard a vacuum sound from outside) Mommy sleep. (Sleeps with mommy)

N- Do vacuum. She takes us to shop. My mom works sometimes, mommy goes to Ohana. She watches dragon movie. (With Noah and Una)

L-Sleep with me.

U- Nenne Korori. Shopping only mama.

S-Shopping. Car. 

A- A stay home, mommy eat something. Mommy take it. Going to the park. 

A-Mommy shopping, she is sleeping, wake up, and working, then sleeping.

 This is just a tiny part of what our mom’s do for us but we appreciate it so much. Next we talked about what we can do/ give our mom to show that we love her. SEE IF YOU CAN GUESS WHICH ONE IS YOUR CHILD. There might be a quiz later…

*I already get flowers for her birthday. Sometimes I get her presents. I can get a cake. A choo- choo chocolate cake.

We also talked about next Monday when the moms will join us to celebrate mother’s day together! But they will be on Zoom instead. Some suggestions were to have the moms dance, play laser game or play here comes the boulder. We wonder what we’ll do for Petals Class Mother’s Day celebration...

Park Time

 Today there was no one at the step park when we arrived! We decided that since no one was there we could play on the playground instead of the green area. We enjoyed swinging on the swings and even helping our friends who has a hard time getting on it. There were a lot of cooperation today. We also liked chasing the teachers with all the obstacles around. We really had to work in a pack to catch them. It was an amazing day to conclude this short week. Have a wonderful weekend!
