Show and Tell Day 4
“Rain Rain Go Away Come Again Another Day.”
Today is the perfect day to sing this song.
We knew that we couldn't go to the park today.
But, we asked our teachers about it then they said, “Maybe not today.”
So, we asked them quickly, “How about here comes the boulder, today?”
We had a small group of Petals today. Some of our friends are having a long weekend or taking some rest. As we started Golden Week from today, Sayaka told us that there is a special day for children during Golden Week. It’s called Children’s day. On that day, parents display koinobori hoping that their children grow up healthy, strong like a wild carp, and happy. Koinobori is a symbol of a family so there is mommy, daddy, and a child koinobori. We have some beautiful koinobori at school (Near the gate) “The green one is small, the red one is big, and the blue one is also big” S said. Children’s day is known as boy’s day as well. Sayaka drew a kabuto on the white board, and asked us if we know that. “Oh we don’t have it at home” S said. “I don’t have it either.” H told her. Sayaka explained that kabuto is a special helmet for boy’s day. It can be displayed as well and is a symbol of strength for boys.
Our circle time was another Show and Tell. Today was A ‘s and R’s day. Al volunteered to go first.
A: Goodnight, Spot
*After we sang the Show and Tell song*
A: That song is so funny!
Sayaka: What is your book about?
A: About Spot!
Sayaka: It seems like it’s not an English book...
*She turned the book to the first page*
A: He’s playing. Mommy’s coming and then it’s sleeping time! He’s cleaning up. He takes a bath.
Sayaka: Do you take a shower by yourself?
A: Yes
Simen: If the shower is too high, then you will need help
*Next page*
A: She can’t sleep. Mommy is reading the book
Sayaka: Do you read the book, or do you listen to someone reading a book before you sleep?
A: Mommy reads the book. Because I can’t read!
*Next page*
A: He’s playing with the teddy! I like this because it’s so funny!
*Next page*
A: He’s playing. Then after he’s playing he will go to sleep. Then he plays with another thing
Sayaka: Why is he not sleeping?
A: Because there are so many lights in his house!
*Next page- Mommy came in the room*
A: Mommy got angry but he is no more playing, he’s sleeping
Sayaka: Is he pretending to sleep or he’s really sleeping?
A: He’s really sleeping
*Next page*
A: She’s taking the dog to his bed. She say, “Goodnight, little Spot!” The end.
A: Any questions?
A: I have a question
A: A, please
A: I have a picture book and Augustas is eating ice cream
S: I like the thing he was sleeping and suddenly he played. Then he did pirate. I like that part- I like the playing part
D: The dog is no sleeping. The dog is long playing and then he’s sleeping
Sayaka: Do you also play after Mommy says goodnight?
D: I wake up and then I play
Sayaka: Oh no! That’s just like Spot!
S: If I do that, my mommy will come inside and say, “Sorry, it’s night time.” And then she says, “GO BACK TO BEEED!!!”
R: The Very Hungry Caterpillar
R: This is my favorite page
Sayaka: Why is it your favorite?
R: It’s cute (Points to the picture of the tiny caterpillar)
R: Cake... ice cream... cucumber... cheese... lollipop...pie... sausage... cupcake... Watermelon… (He points out to what the caterpillar ate)
Sayaka: Do you think these are food for the caterpillar? Do you think he’s happy now?
R: No….He ate too much food.
Sayaka: What did he eat?
R: A leaf
R: Any questions?
A: I like the caterpillar
As we thanked Alexander and R, we clapped our hands. Right after we finished Show and Tell, we shouted out, “Gaaaame timeee!” Our teacher said, “Hahaha, okay! Lets have a game time!” We did musical chair and here comes the boulder. After that we had an early lunch time.
Thank you for today!
