The Buds Carnival

What a beautiful day! The sun was up and shining on our tiny faces. We’re ready for another full swing of fun and interesting learning activities in our classroom.

 The Elephant Art

As we have continued what Erika has done yesterday, painting it was so much and we spent a long time painting and dribbling it with our brushes. Doing it on the floor gave us a different dimension and made the experience more engaging for all of us to do. Today, we stuck some special washi paper on it until it gave spotty patterns.

Honeycomb Stamps

Goh-san kindly helped us with our special pattern making again. This time, it was quite easy to dip the bubble wrap in the painting. We had the orange and yellow color. With our teacher’s guidance, we slowly did the artwork and it had created amazing shapes and patterns altogether. We eventually used our hands to spread the color but we had to make that the other part of the paper was preserved for the patterns.

The Trapeze Chart

On the other table,  there were some straws and loops of yarn. Our teachers said that we could thread and connect the yarn and put it inside the straw. We pushed one end and pulled it out from the other side. Then, we tied a knot and made a special trapeze. We were amazed to see how it was swinging up and down and from side to side.

Floor Activities

There were the cushion slides, balancing beams and the big gym mat. It was absolutely enjoyable to play and explore these equipment. Our bodies got enough opportunity to move and spend more energy.

Circle time

We had our special warm-up exercises with our friends today. As what our teachers told us today, we were all acrobats. We learned how to do the somersault and used the big green cushion. We put our hands on the floor, followed by our head and tilted forward until we were able to roll over. It was great to see how all of us participated and had a chance to perform this special skill. In the future, as our class is planning to do a special carnival event at Ohana, it is better to start as early as now, practicing some skills that we could do on the said event.

We also sang a song about the Carnival and the song also taught how to move and stop with our bodies.

Park time

It was a sunny day and we had so much fun running around and playing with the balls.

Lots of love,

All the children from Buds class
