Snowball Fight!

We had snacks again when we came into Petals class in the morning. It was a relaxing morning while we listened to music and enjoyed our morning snack. Whenever one of us finishes we transition to free play time. It allowed us more freedom to enjoy what we want to do. What we wanted was to play in the candy house. We tried to see how many of our friends could fit in the house and we got quite a lot. We fit about 7 friends in the house! We also took books and blocks in the house and chatted with our friends. At one point during free play time we even pretended to sleep in the house. If we weren’t playing in the house we build houses and other creations with the wooden blocks. We also played Zingo with Kai. We had to raise our hands if we saw the object that’s on our Zingo board and tell him that we had it. We were concentrating very hard to see if we could fill up our boards. This game took restraint from us because we just wanted to grab the card if we saw that we had it. Eventually we started to use our words instead of grabbing. It was a wonderful free play time as always.

When we come back to Petals class next year on January 10th we’re going to have a special breakfast for Dad’s day. The teachers wondered what our dads eat for breakfast. This is what we told them:

K: Chicken!

L: Soup! Brown soup. He drinks black soup.

C: Eggs!

M: Chicken!

K: Oh! Chicken and chicken? *Points to himself and M*

A: Biscuits

K: Daddy drinks coffee

R: Daddy eats waffles and biscuits at home

L: Daddy eats biscuits

H: Daddy eats cabbage and coffee

R: Hamburg. Soup and hamburg. Hamburg steak.

C: Osenbe and coffee

S: Coffee- and chicken

It seems like most of our Dad likes biscuits and coffee. We then talked about what we should serve when we come back. We hope all our dads will bring their voucher and pick up their breakfast on that day.

The main event of the day is a snowball fight! The teachers set up the room to have two different sides. They even put our candy house on one side and another set of boxes on the other so we could hide behind if we wanted to. After going over the rules it was time to play!! We were reluctant at first to throw but after the teachers joined all systems were “Go”. We played several rounds of snowball fights and after each round we wanted to give our friends from the other team high fives and hugs. The teachers didn’t even have to tell us to! Oh, it was a fun way to end 2021 for Petals Class. We’ll see you next year in 2022!

Much love,
