Our Personalities
Hello moms and dads! We all had another beautiful day at school, our day was filled with music, movement, and problem solving! We started our day playing with lego blocks and the people figures. Some of us worked with Nimo to finish our Pumpkin origami or we were with Vieda to do our face painting. After our craft time, Nimo gave us a mission to do together as a class. He wanted us to make a Police Station with the lego. We worked together as a team to build the best police station in the universe! We spent 30 minutes building and wreaking to make the perfect station. Our friends explained to our teachers what they made.
Y: Helicopter
B: A tall tower
K: This is the underground prison.
C: This is the Helicopter station, the dog is guarding it. This is the jail.
K: This is a baby tower and a robot.
B: This is the door they go in and out.
T: This is the small station.
Great job architects! Mission accomplished!
We had a great time playing tag with our friends. We have been using the rope to make a small house in one of the corners of step park. As long as we are in there, we were safe from the monster, but we enjoy a little thrill every now and then, so we run out of our house and have the monster chase us. When it was time to go back, we noticed two of our friend’s water bottle straps were tangled up. The whole class gathered around to try and untie it without our teachers help. With the help of everyone’s ideas, we were able to get the straps untangled and we were able to get back to school.
This week we have been talking about “diversity”, these past few days we have been focusing on the colors of our skin. All of our skins have different colors and features. The way we see other people’s skin might be a little bit different too. Some might thing our skin is cocoa colored, and some might say turmeric. At the end of the day our skin color is just a color.
C: Because it’s diversity. People have different skin color and like and don’t like.
K: We are all human.
T: Skin color doesn’t matter.
B: We can play together.
Our question of the day today was, “would you like everything to be the same color?”. Most of our friends answered “no”.
K: I want to learn about the colors.
C: It would be boring. Everything is the same every day.
Our physical differences are different and that make things interesting.
Nimo: How are we different?
T: Your eyebrows are darker, mine are light.
C: You are much taller, and your kilo is much bigger. Your insides are all old.
K: Your shoes.
Nimo: Are the things we like the same?
Flowers: No!
Not just how we look are different, the way we think and act are all different too. We talked about our personalities.
C: Personalities are like the Kimochis.
Nimo: Kimochis or emotions change every day. Personality sticks with you for a long time.
K: I think Vieda’s personality is a writer, because she writes everyday.
We talked about how personalities change how we feel about things and our reactions to things can be different. Nimo pretended to get pushed by a friend and he burst into tears. He then asked us what he should do.
C: You should step away and calm down and then count to ten.
Nimo moved away and counted to ten, but when he came back he got pushed again and cried again.
K: You need to go home!
T: Maybe you should go to the forest.
B: Go somewhere in the weekend.
K: Count to 100
We gave him so many ideas, but even when Nimo went to a new school, he still got pushed and cried.
K: Maybe you should talk to them and ask why they are doing it.
Nimo asked his friends and his friends didn’t know he didn’t like to be pushed. He told them to please stop, and the pushing finally stopped.
It is important for us to use our words and tell our friends what we like and don’t like. Some people might be ok being pushed and don’t care; others will feel super upset. If we just cry, no one will know what is wrong. If they don’t know what is wrong no one can help us. If we do use our words, our friends will know and they might not do it next time.
Have a lovely evening everyone, we will see you all again tomorrow
Love,
Flowers
