Bittersweet Farewell

Today is a bittersweet day because it is K’s last day at Ohana. It is bitter because we have to say goodbye, but it’s also sweet because K is moving on to a new chapter in her life. Luckily for us we all live on the same planet so we will definitely be able to see her again somewhere some day! We still had one more day together so we have no time to waste being sad, we can play and make more fun memories together! We finished up our artworks we have been working on, the ceiling ghosts and our foot monsters. After we were done with our crafts we sad at the other table and played with the colored cellophane and the pretty jewels.

We gathered into a circle and read “A Cat In A Hat” by Dr. Suess. Nimo asked us to find pairs of words that rhyme. Fall and ball, can/fan, cake/rake, game/shame, and cat/hat were just some of the rhyming pairs we found. The wacky story was a ton of fun to read, and looking for rhyming words was also a lot of fun too! Now that we got our heads in the mood for rhymes, we looked for all kinds of things at the park that we could rhymed

On our way back to the park we visited the spider again and took a look at some of the pretty flowers that were growing. One of our friends asked, “Can we draw flowers for quiet time?”, Nimo took that idea and asked if we would like to go to the garden in the office and draw the flowers there, we all said, “yes!”. We got our colored pencils and markers and our small art tables and went up stairs to the office balcony. We took a seat where ever we wanted and began drawing the beautiful flowers there. Nimo brought his Ukulele and we sang lots of songs as we drew. With our Potato Digging coming up after the Fall Break, drawing flowers was a great introduction to plants!

After we finished drawing we played Musical Chairs by K’s request. She chose the song too which was “Step and a Step” by Niziu. We had a great time playing with our friends! Before we had our lunch K handed out a lovely farewell gift for everyone. Thank you K!

We will dearly miss you K, U, C, and H. Thank you very much the beautiful, fun memories together! Take care and have a great time at your new school!

Love,

Flowers
