All about Poo

Happy Monday friends! Hope everyone had a restful weekend! Here we are, back at school for another wonderful week! We started our marvelous Monday morning with lots of crafts! We sat down with Vieda on one table to make our drawings and writings for our favorite part of our body! At the other table we made our ghost decorations with Nimo. First, we picked either the white paper, black paper, or the orange paper to use. Next, we drew any shape we wanted for our ghost’s head then cut it out. We drew a face for our ghosts then cut out the legs. Our friends were very creative and very good at making spooky things! After we finished our morning craft time, we had our snacks then headed to the park.

It was a national holiday today so there were lots of people out and about and the park had more guests than usual. The green area was already being used so we decided to play on and around the big slide. Vieda gave us a light push down the slide so we could go a little faster than usual! It was quite thrilling and a lot of fun! On our way back we stopped by the spider’s nest and checked if our spider friend was ok. Even when if it rains, the wind blows, or there is an earthquake, the spider doesn’t move. We were quite impressed with the spider’s patience.

When we got back we continued our discussion from Friday about poo.
Nimo: Is poo good for us?
M: If you eat it, you’ll die.
Y: Yes because it’s a vegetable. Poo is vegetable here (points at stomach)
D: But it’s yucky.
C: We can recycle. The toilet will recycle and it goes to another place, then something will do something.
K: You eat something good for you, if you eat then you don’t go poo, it will be bad for you.
M: Why is there is a sausage in the body?
C: That’s the stomach.
M: Oh. Is bacteria the same as a cavity?
Nimo: Cavity are made from bacteria.
M: Oh.
Nimo: Where do you think the poo goes?
K: Into the water.
Nimo: Do you think animals eat poo?
C: Flies.
K: Lions and sharks.
M: Goats, because they eat everything.
K: I know in Japanese, Nezumi (mouse).
S: Rabbits.
Y: Birds.
Nimo: Some animals eat a little poo, bacteria, bugs, and fungi also eat poo.

We took a look at a page in our book, the page had 24 phones being charged.
K: Those are iphones!
M: My sister has my mom’s old phone.
K: Poo makes power?
C: We need energy, we eat and sleep.
The book said one poo can have enough energy to charge 24 iphones! No wonder some animals eat them. We also learned that farmers mix some poo in their soil to make the soil have more nutrients that help plants and vegetables grow.
The book had a page with poo of different animals, we tried to guess which poo belonged to which animal. It was fascinating to see how unique each poo was, and the fact that ants poo too!

We finished our day playing a few rounds of Freeze Dance, and then we had to quickly get ready for lunch because we didn’t have much time to eat!

Hope everyone has a lovely evening! See you all again tomorrow!

Love,
Flowers
