There is no "I" in Team

Another beautiful morning to start a beautiful day at school! We had so much fun this morning playing with the toy cars and toy animals! We continued on with our canvas painting with Pauline, we added three more colors today and it is starting to look very nice! We can’t wait until we finish painting and peel the tape off the canvas!

Our teachers told us that today is our last day of half day classes, starting next week we are finally getting back into our regular school schedule! Hurray! A lot of our friends said they were excited to do full days with their friends. For our Circle time, Nimo told us a story he made up yesterday. It was about some animals that were having their sports day at their animal school. The animals split up into two teams and did lots of activities to collect as many points as they could. However, one little cow didn’t want to work with his team and not do anything because he wasn’t as fast as a cheetah or jump high like a kangaroo. To top it all off the little cow wasn’t having any fun at all. That night in bed, the cow remembered how upset his teammates were because they tried their best but couldn’t get any points. The cow thought, why do “I” need to try? “I” am not as fast or can jump that high. The cow thought maybe he can try for his team instead next time. The next day for the second day of Sports Day the cow did the best he could. He wasn’t as fast as a cheetah, but he still ran for his teammates that were trying so hard. Although he wasn’t an expert at jumping, he did all he could for “WE”. All of his teammates cheered him on and were happy for the cow, and the cow was also having so much fun. The moral of the story? H said, “Cheetahs are the fastest animals in the world!” That is indeed true! We had a discussion about what the meaning of the story might have been. Everyone had great ideas and unique interpretations of the story.

We did such a great job listening and participating in our circle time, Nimo prepared a few games for us! For our first game, we broke up into two teams, Team Red-Pink-Yellow and Team Dinosaurs. Nimo prepared an obstacle course for us and we raced around the course and once we got back, our friend up next would go until all of our teammates completed the course. We cheered our teammates on and give it our best! We then played musical chairs together, then we finished the day by calming down with some yoga.

We can’t wait to get back into our usual routine next week! Enjoy your weekend everyone and see you all again at school!

Love,
