We can do it! ~Obstacle Challenge~
Yesterday, Buds class had the End-of-Year Party and we showed our appreciation to our parents and how much we enjoyed being at Buds class with wonderful friends and teachers. And now, we only have three more days to spend time together. We are sure these last three days will be a great time for us.
<Connecting Blocks>
Connecting blocks are not just simply to connect blocks together, but also it allows us to use our imagination to think where to connect the blocks. For example, connect on head, shoulder, and hands. During free play time, our friends spent a lot of time to play with the connecting blocks. One of friends connected on head to head and made a triangle tower and some of them connected hand to hand as if they are holding hands together and ready to play. John was also at the table and lined the connecting blocks on the table and had a counting practice with Buds friends.
<Painting with Vehicle toys>
When we think what we can do with vehicle toys, most of time, we think we can pretend we drive the vehicle. But this time, we decided to use the vehicle toy as a paint brush. When friends saw the vehicle toys were together with paints and a large paper, they seemed not sure what they could do. One of the teachers came to the table and suggested to paint the tires and drive on the paper. Slowly slowly, they put the vehicle toy on the paint plate and they drove it on the paper. They were fascinated that vehicle toys can make a beautiful lines and those lines unified together to make a great art work. Some friends painted whole vehicle and drove up-side down and made a unique pattern on the paper as well.
<Story Time>
After we packed away all the toys, we made a big circle for the story time. First, John shared the story about Mr. Brown and Black and taught friends how important to use the gentle hands and we sang a “gentle hands” song together. Next, Chiaki showed her best friend called “Hungry Caterpillar” . He said he is very hungry but not sure what to eat. He tried to eat someone’s sandal and T-shirt but, Buds friends said, “No!’, “You cant eat that!’ While he was searching for the foods, he finally found a lot of fruits and friends helped him to feed the fruits one by one. After he ate all the fruits, he fell asleep and when he woke up, he became a beautiful butterfly.
<Book Time>
After the snack time, we gathered at the library and Chiaki read a book called, “Kake Make-Chan”. This is a special book because it given by A family as a special gift for Buds class and book is originally from Lithuania. Thank you very much for the wonderful book gift! The book is translated to Japanese, so Chiaki read the book with both Japanese and English. The book is about Kake Make-chan who does not like to clean up the toys meets a special elf for cleaning up. One day, the elf takes all the toys away from Kake Make chan because she does not pack away her toys. The elf asks her to complete three missions in order to get the toys back and Kake Make chan shows her brave personality to completes the missions. All of friends really enjoyed listening to the book and after the Chiaki finished reading the book, they said, “We need to clean up toys” and “One more time!”
<Obstacle Course Challenge>
Since it was a rainy in the morning, we could not go to the park today. Therefore, a teacher set up obstacle course which allowed friends to move their whole body. In obstacle course, they needed jump twice on mats, go through tunnel and jump twice again. The hardest part of the obstacle course was jump on the mats because some of friends were still practicing to jump and some were too excited to go in the tunnel that they forgot to jump on the mat. While friend was doing the obstacle challenge, we cheered the friend by calling name and said, “You can do it!” to encouraged her/him. After all friends completed the obstacle challenging, a teacher put the wooden blocks on the floor and made a big tower and house together.
Have a nice day!
Love,
Buds Class
