Winter Party Songs

Hello everybody! It was another beautiful and cold weather outside. For sure, winter is here and we’re excited to feel the cold breeze on our faces.

Big Lego blocks

Our friends’ favorite part of the day was the free play time! We all gathered around the circle time area and started taking out some Ampanman Lego toys from the box. We did lots of construction again today but what really stood out today was that we all worked together to build a small house that we put in the middle. The house was filled with slides and some bridges that we put above it. Our imagination just went on and on.

Goop activity

Last week, Nanako made a batch of goo for us to play with. There were leftovers from it and today, we did the  same activity again. It is always important to have this follow-up and let the other children experience the texture. Today, it was quite different because it became a bit jelly –like. The cold temperature gave a weird but nice texture  on it. We stayed at the table and we’re very excited to play with it together with some spoons and forks. We pinched and squeezed them into small pieces. It was bit challenging to clean up but with the help of everyone, we did clean the table amazingly.

Garland making from last week

In continuation of garland making from last week as well, we used some dot markers and glitters. The final touches gave the artwork a  more vibrant and lively feeling into it. And yes, we can feel the spirit of the holidays now.

Circle time

We started our circle time by our usual good morning song. Then, we counted our friends and our fingers. It was nice to hear that our friends are becoming a lot more confident with counting. This only shows that we are learning and realizing our potential that we can do more.

Practicing our Winter Holiday songs

We practiced some songs that we’re going to sing on Wednesday. We are getting prepared for it as we all know it is one of the big celebrations here at Ohana. The songs we sang were Jingle Bells, Santa Claus is coming to town, Oh Christmas Tree. There were also some songs that we requested and they were Baby Shark  and The Smile Song. We just love singing and dancing to these songs. We even took out our bells and began singing our hearts out with the whole class. It was lovely to hear everyone sing.

 Block activity

For our block play, we put our three colorful blocks and they were red, blue and yellow. Most of us already knew about these colors and so we counted as much as we could on the floor. We even matched each block according to their color and we lined them up side by side. The last part of our lesson was to create a pattern. We did red, yellow, blue, red, yellow, ______ And then, we all answered, “BLUE!”. Lastly, we read a book called, “Hurry, Santa!” It was Santa’s adventure of giving  the gifts around the world.

Park

We saw our friend A at the park with his mom. He brought some of his toys that he could take in the sandbox. After our time at the park, we said goodbye to him and we are looking forward to seeing him tomorrow.

Thank you so much for another beautiful day! See you all again tomorrow.

Lots of love,

All the children from Buds Class
