Halloween Art Craft Day !

It was a bit busy today day for making Halloween decorations. We had cutting bat activity with Nimo, sticky jack-o-lantern activity with Sayaka. We also continued our special art activity with Pauline. Even though we couldn't go to the park, we enjoyed a lot today. Have you decided about your costume, mommy and/or daddy?

We are so excited about Halloween party!

Morning fun

“it’s Halloween!” we had to shout out in glee as soon as we came in Petals class. After that we said, “Good morning!” to friends and teachers as always. Looking at Halloween decorations makes us feel more excited for. H looked at the skeleton and said, “I’m scared!” She pretended that she was shaking. M looked at her and said, “I’m not scared because I am strong.” A said, “Oh, I forgot my ninja costume today.” Then Sayaka asked her if the costume is for the party. She told her that it is for Halloween party! T told us  again, “I am going to be a dinosaur.” to make sure the teachers won’t forget about it. At the big table, Nimo prepared a bat– cutting activity. At the small table was a special watercolor activity with Pauline. We also had a jack-o-lantern making craft with Sayaka. We were very lucky because we could play with a Halloween stick during free play time. We pretended it was an umbrella. We showed it to Pauline and said, “Paulineeeeee! It’s rainyyyyyyyy!!!” we had so much fun during morning free play time.

For snack time, we had a picnic and we loved it.

Circle time-Guess what’s inside the pumpkin!

Sayaka showed our big and heavy pumpkin to us. She started asking about it.

Sayaka: What’s the color?

A: Orange!

T: Green.

K: Oh, big pumpkin!

C: Brown.

L: Gray.

Then Sayaka asked us to touch, feel, smell the pumpkin.

R: it’s hard. It’s cold.

H: Smells yucky! She knocked on it and said, “Its hard.”

L also knocked on it and smiled.

A touched the stem and smiled.

Then Sayaka asked us to take a guess what’s inside the pumpkin.

L: Hmmm...I think my daddy is inside.

O: Mine too!

L: They are playing and sleeping together.

Sayaka: REALLY? How can they all fit inside?

Everyone laughed.

M knocked on it and said, “I’m a bit scared!”

A did as well and whispered, “I’m not scared because I’m brave” She showed her strong pose.

A: My daddy is also inside.

S: My mommy is inside.

A touched the stem and said, “It’s a  little bit tickly for me. It’s too hard so we can’t break it.

K: There is a witch inside. No! maybe six witches inside!

Sayaka: Can you please take a guess one more time. I don’t think the pumpkin can keep your mommy and daddy inside. What is inside here? (she touched and pointed it out)

C: Seed. There are seeds inside.

Sayaka: Wow. I think he has a great idea! I think so, too. Lets wait and see at our Halloween party. Nimo will carve it for our party. You’ll see what’s actually inside. You can feel, touch, and smell again. It sounds wonderful. We can’t wait for Thursday.

After that she told us that we will continue art activity and free play time until lunch time because we can’t go to the park today. We chose toy car for free play and enjoyed having more art time.

We had a beautiful today! We look forward to seeing everyone  tomorrow!

 Love,

 Wonderful artists of Petals Class
