We had so much fun with the trains sets today and started making our picnic baskets

We had a great day today and it is so lovely to see Buds greeting other Buds and saying “Hello” or “Good morning”, which makes the friends say it back with a big smile.

When Yurika sees markers and crayons on the table she wants to draw, as do many Buds so it didn’t take long for Buds to be at the table this morning making their picnic baskets. It was fun to color and draw the boxes. Some Buds colored one color for an entire side and others chose to use lots of colors. Lanah ended up with a purple pointer finger and thought it was really funny. Hana decided to copy her with a pink hand. When Jonah saw the picnic basket handle we had also decorated being put on Dominik’s basket, he excitedly said “Me” as he wanted his handle attached too.

Wow, Buds were excited to see trains on the carpet this morning. The teachers put 3 or pieces of train track together and then it was up to Buds to make the tracks how they wanted. We ended up with one very big train track and one small circle one. We had a lot of different trains to drive on the tracks too.

Yum, we had sushi on the table in our kitchen today. Sometimes we take sushi on picnics. Buds liked seeing something new in the kitchen and it seemed today everyone had a turn cooking or setting food out. We also have a new case that looks like small suitcase and some necklaces and food got put in that too.

In circle time Sharee tipped all our family blocks onto the floor and Buds had to find their own family (except for a couple of Buds who haven’t brought their picture in) Once we had found our families we sang ‘Where is Daddy (thumbkin)’ with the teachers holding plain blocks and Buds holding up their Mummy and Daddy blocks. After we put the blocks away Sharee held up a large circle and asked what shape it was. Karl and Lanah were quick to say “Circle”. We started dancing and every time the music stopped the teachers put a circle on Buds t-shirts. We sat down and counted how many circle stickers Buds had received. Buds had between 7 and 13 stickers on their t-shirts. When we dance these days we like to hold other friend’s hands and dance. (Unless we are doing specific actions to songs

In story time we read ‘Fiddle I Fee’ and Buds had fun naming all the animals. At the end of the story all the animals sit down to a big picnic feast.

We took balls to the park today and some Buds wanted to kick them, some Buds wanted to play catch but running away with the ball is probably the most fun for Buds. Sometimes we like to have some time to sit and chill too.
