We made beautiful butterfly painting today.

26 September – Daily Journal

??????????We had a wonderful day today and it’s always a good sign when we see some Buds who don’t want to go home!

Since we’ve been talking about our families a lot this week, Buds have been really interested in their life?????????? books with three or four Buds at a time looking at one friend’s book.

Some mornings we don’t put anything on the table in the kitchen area because we want Buds to get things for themselves, independently choosing what they would like. Sometimes the table will sit empty for a while then one Bud will get ??????????something out and suddenly three or four Buds have lots of food and plates out and are cooking on the stove or turning on the taps.

We like using the peg boards because they are great for little fingers to build strength. Some Buds can squeeze the pegs and stick on the boards and others are building up their finger?????????? strength.

We have been seeing lots of butterflies recently. Buds are so excited to be the first person to see one. “Look, a butterfly”. We are happy we have been seeing small yellow ones and large black and brown butterflies, as well as some multi colored ones. Hence we ??????????decided to make butterflies for art today. We painted several colors and then the teachers helped us fold the paper in half and ‘Ta Daa’, we made beautiful butterflies.

We had a special friend join us in circle time today. He didn’t have a name so we decided to name him ‘Sam’. Sam sat on Sharee’s shoulder and told Buds how quietly and nicely they were sitting while they ??????????were waiting for him to join. Sam wanted to tell Buds he had been watching this morning and some Buds forgot to use their words or gentle hands sometimes which made him a little sad. With the teachers help we decided to say “excuse me” if we need to move past someone when there is not enough space. And if we want our ??????????friend’s attention, we say “hello” (rather than pushing our friends). Buds listened really well and helped us act out some scenarios.

We were excited to grab the block bag and find some more Buds’ families in the bag. Iva was very excited and said “Mumma” and “Pappa” when she saw her family.

We had a lot of fun at the park today with Buds getting more and more adventurous. Yurika and Faith went down the swirly slide for the first time by themselves today and were so happy doing it several times. Kaia and Faith were also using up lots of energy going up one lot of stairs and down the other. They are so proud they can do this by themselves. Karl loves getting some water and pouring it on the plants and was very helpful watering the plants today. He is?????????? careful not to get wet himself, which is great. Lanah, Iva and Hana were busy playing a chasing game and hide and seek so were pretty tired at rest time.

Have a great weekend

Sharee and Sayaka
