Plasticine modelling
This morning Eito, Marc, Jessica and Nile all changed the pictures in their own personal picture frame. They did some animal paintings yesterday and wanted to take home the animal stamps artwork that was already in the frames. We needed to remove a little bit of the white paper from the edge of the paper to make it fit and together used the safety cutter with the teachers. On the art table we saw a new kind of modelling material called Plasticine which is a bit harder than
playdough but got softer the more we moved it in
our fingers. There were lots of colors to choose from and made crocodiles, giraffes and butterflies. On the second art table Marc, Wesley and Lucinda used the Posca paint markers to add color to
their art clay animals. Marc used orange (his favorite color), pink, green and orange on his forest mouse while Lucinda used pink on her wild cat. Wesley decided to use his favorite colour (also orange) on his Meer cat. Ayaka’s face and arm painting was again popular with all
the children and we had a lot of fun showing off our snakes, leopards, tigers and butterfly faces and arms. On the carpet Eito and Tokutaro used the colored wooden
blocks to build a pyramid and then added toy animals to the structure on the stepped sides. Riko and Kosei saw the airport puzzle that Arata started yesterday on the table and added some more pieces together. It is a big puzzle with a hundred pieces but we will continue until it is all finished! After checking the calendar in both English and Japanese we took
our snack and water bottles to the park to have a picnic together. We were the only children at
the park and it was very warm. We made sure we had sunscreen, bug-spray and our water bottles. We played the lion on the grasslands game with our friends again and used the sand toys under the shade of the tree. We were very hot when we came back and started our circle time by arranging ourselves ready for our graduation
party and songs performance. We sang a few special songs in English, Japanese and even Chinese
before playing a fun game with our friends in a circle on the carpet. We then practiced our actual graduation ceremony and did a really good job. We are sorry we can’t tell you too much about our practice as we would like to keep as much of it a surprise as possible. We are really looking forward to showing our mummies and daddies what we can do next week.
Have a great afternoon and please sat cool,
All our love, Darren, Ayaka & Nanako
