Our cool newspaper hats!

DSCN9114Hello amazing Thursday! It is pretty nice to see our friends again after our one-day holiday. Hope you all had a great day with your family. We started our time with different activities on the table. We still had our DSCN9122long roll up paper and some bubble wrap gloves. We also saw some paint and Yurika can identify the “red” and “yellow”. She instantly said “red” and when she finished using this paint, she would say “yellow” and use it on our special paper. We like using the gloves by stamping it on our paper. It gave us a scaly effect on our fish. DSCN9131                Some of us also finished doing the green koinobori. Everybody seemed to enjoy this activity especially when we’re using different brushes and stamps for these. Dominik really likes to use his hands and get creative with his artwork. It is also the same DSCN9136with Alexa for she really likes to sit down and just scribble and color anything that she can put a shade in front of her. Lisa, on the other hand, went to the other table and worked on her play dough. She also loves to use the rolling pin on her play dough as if she was making bread.

DSCN9137                  In our circle time, we have Goh-san today. Thank you so much Goh-san for taking good care of us. She seems to have a very special magic wherein she could calm down our very energetic attitude. First, weDSCN9143 sang the ABC song for our review and then we were asked about our names and surprisingly most of us can respond to it. Yurika can’t say her name before but when she was asked today, she whispered, “Yurika”. And we’re so proud of her because she can speak more and express herself more in the classroom.

DSCN9146             Today, we also used the rainbow parachute. This was a fun activity for we went under the parachute and waited for the cloth to go up and down. We were all giggling because it feels very funny when DSCN9170the parachute touched our face and our whole body. Sofie, Lisa and Kaia were really laughing for it was a very different play experience for us. Our teachers and friends put it up and down and then we sang “Are you sleeping?” all along the activity. When everybody was pretending to sleep, Lisa or Sofie would say “Wake up!” and we would get up and dance with the music coming out from the guitar. After the parachute activity, we made a big circle and we started singing “Jimmy crack corn”. And we did several movements while singing to the song. For example, instead of singing “Jimmy crack corn”, we changed it into “Put your hands up and down”. Or we would even sing “jump around, turn and clap”. It was very entertaining for us and we enjoyed every minute of our circle time. DSCN9176                After our circle time, we made our long train and started giving our train tickets to John so that we could join in. And we all went to our art tables to make colorful hats with some paints and pom-poms. It was very interesting for we already used toothbrush, bubble wrap gloves, hands and now, pom-poms! The pom-poms could absorb the paint quickly. And eventually, Yurika just used her hands to spread the paint all over her hat. The Buds class kids are getting better when it comes to color identification. Sofie said that she has blue hands. And Leanne showed her hands painted with yellow. We really had a marvelous time putting designs on our hats. We love painting and exploring our imagination with every opportunity that we can have in and out of our classroom.

We went to the park today. And our teachers brought the bubble maker again. We really had a nice time popping the bubbles here and there. DSCN9179Lisa and Yurika went to the vacant lot and played with Sayaka. They found a cone and they both got so creative as well. Yurika put the cone on her head and she pretended that it was her hat. She also hid the ball inside and it seemed that she was trying to shoot it inside the cone.

Thank you so much for the wonderful time! Thanks to our teachers and friends too! Have a good day and see you all tomorrow!

Lots of love,

John, Sayaka and Maki
