Welcome Sofia and the Giraffe art

DSCN4352  This morning, we welcomed our new friend Sofia. She is a lovely girl but she needs time to adjust with our Buds class for she always calls out for mommy. We all went the same stage so we feel it is a normal transition for her and to feel this way. But then again, we hope to see you more often Sofia. Hope you had a nice time here at Ohana.DSCN4360 DSCN4365 During our playtime, we noticed that Leanne has been very busy in the kitchen. Riku was looking at her all the time, we think that he was so hungry and was waiting for his pizza. Leanne put some olives, sliced tomatoes and some mushrooms as toppings. Maki also helped them out with the preparation. Thank you Maki!DSCN4374

DSCN4375On our circle time, we sang the hello song. Sofia was with Sayaka and she was doing some painting. She scribbled with different colored markers and we think that she was having a great time at that very moment. We also performed many songs today like ABC, Itsy, bitsy spider and of course, our favorite Jungle Song. Maki was the lion and the tiger this time. The main focus of our song was all about actions, we flew, crawled, ran, walked and stomped.DSCN4385

DSCN4387After our circle time, we made the “giraffe art”. John showed us how to put some spots on the giraffe and some sparkling accessories on it, he also asked us what was missing on our giraffe’s face, we noticed that there were no eyes on it, we told him that we need to put them on so that they could see where they are going, he also reminded us to put the eyes carefully, not too close and not too far away from each other. Lana and Hana used some posca markers and crayons to put more artistic touches. Rei and Riku needed a little help from Maki while doing the activity but they felt really accomplished after completing their artwork. Kaia was very talkative because she always wanted to tell everyone what she was about to put on her giraffe. She liked to show her giraffe as well to everybody. Leanne also needed some help but she later found out what she wanted to do and told Maki that she could do it all by herself. Sofie was very independent, she would also need some help for a few minutes but after that she could finish her work quickly. She was very polite the whole time by asking with “please” and saying “thank you”.

DSCN4392When we arrived at the park, we saw the Flowers class. We had a great time playing with them because they would reach out and help us when we wanted to get up and down the slides. They were very responsible and sociable that’s why it would be nice to play with them more frequently. A few minutes later, the Petals came but this time we had to say goodbye to Flowers class. The Petals class was also very helpful and playful at the same time. Again, we had an amazing day with our teachers, friends from our DSCN4396class and other classes.

Love always,

John, Sayaka and Maki
