Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye
Today was our end of the year Christmas/Farewell lunch. We missed Jen and Christina who are already on vacation in the USA however we had a strong contingent of fabulous teachers who we treasure at Ohana International School. It was a time to say thank you and acknowledge the wonderful contribution that everyone has made this year and look forward to some changes in
2015.
Thank you so much Goh, Sayaka, Maki, Sharee, Nanako, Liezel, Christine, Maryna, Hisami, and Ayaka.
And then there was the Farewell to our dear Christine. She has been the leader in the office and the one who keeps us all in tow. We are deeply grateful for all that she has contributed to Ohana International School and will miss her soooooo much.
We know that this is not goodbye, but rather, till we meet again. Safe travels home to California and please come back and visit. You are and will always be a part of Ohana, wherever you are.
As part of our lunch, each staff member had to prepare either a song, joke, riddle, skit, activity etc and this was a great hit. Christine and Shelley obviously are great minds because they both composed a song to the tune of "My Favourite Things". Nanako read a poem to Christine; Darren asked some riddles; Hisami played Ayatori with Christine and seems to be a magician in the making; Sharee told jokes; Maki told jokes too; Goh sang a beautiful farewell song in Chiness; Liezel played a game called 'Hip, hip, hooray"; Maryna read a letter that she composed to Santa; Sayaka taught us how to make a peacock chopstick rest as it is impolite to put chopsticks directly on
the table and Ayaka taught us how to make a sheep for the Year of the Sheep, using a 1,000Yen note.
It was a fitting end to a wonderful beginning.........
Happy holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah and Happy New Year 2015
