Happy Thanksgiving special snack

We really appreciated the warm weather today and were happy to see the sun at the park.

On the tables Buds continued to do their hand prints to make the feathers and wings of our turkey. Some Buds only wanted to do one hand print and some wanted to do several. We are happy to see Buds great teamwork on display and reminds us we are thankful to have such great children and families in Buds class.

Some Buds also made a collage with different colored shapes and some Buds spent a long time at the play dough table.

In circle time we had some friends pop in to visit so we sang our favorite name song ‘Bee, bee bumble bee, can you say your name please’ and then we looked at the Thanksgiving turkey we had made. Buds were so proud of all their hand prints on the turkey’s wings. Lots of Buds agreed they are thankful for their Mums and Dads playing with them, making them yummy food and looking after them. Sharee explained we are going to make a special Thanksgiving snack together so while we were washing hands, we got out the cars and trucks and sang ‘Fire truck, fire truck, what do you see?’

Buds were excited to sit at the table to help make our snack. Buds all had different jobs to do; peeling mikan, cutting kiwifruit and wiping grapes dry after they were washed. Once we had done this we took turns to put all the fruit on the plate, making it look like a turkey. We were pleased with how it turned out and Buds were happy to eat some extra fruit with their snack.

We were the only children in the park for a while today so Buds were happy to roam free. There was a large puddle in the park that Buds enjoyed playing in/next to. Because Buds didn’t have rain boots on we wouldn’t let them jump or splash in the puddles but of course they were drawn to the puddles and had fun squatting next to the water and pretending it was a lake with the leaves being boats. Quite a few leaves, small and big, went into the water and then their hands ended up going in too.
