Discoveries in the dirt!

Monday, 7th April - Discoveries in the dirt!

Welcome back to a warm and sunny Monday!

This morning on the front table, we played pretend kitchen! Chef K was there to give everyone a taste of his apple sauce! He loves playing in the kitchen!

At the back table, we sculpted and molded our spring green play doh! I and L worked together to roll balls and put them into a big bowl! They were very focused on making them round. T was hard at work on the opposite side stamping shapes into the clay too! He loved to see the police car shape come out! R also came over to roll balls with everyone and smiled at the teachers! R very kindly shared her cookie cutter shape with S after she finished. Thank you! S rolled out and tried cutting stamps for himself! He loved squishing the clay between his fingers. So much fun!

On top of the small table, we began our “above and below” garden collaboration by spreading out a thick, interesting brown to represent the dirt of the garden! L was happy to squish salty brown paint on top of the paper! She giggled as she went along. The texture is so amazing!

Inside the sensory table, S discovered wriggly worms! S handed him a pair of tongs and they both searched through the dirt to find more!

Once we cleaned up and gathered for circle time, we sang happy birthday to our friend T because today is his actual birthday! Today, he is 2 years old! Congrats Tylee!

Our friends F and L came to visit to celebrate Ns’ birthday by throwing a party for us all! We read a story called “Max and Lisa” about the importance of sharing! We like to share in Buds class too! F and Lisa told us that they play a birthday game in Sweden called “fishing”! We fish for a special prize and get to take it home! Please be aware! Colored pencils are coming home inside backpacks today! Thank you so much N! N was so brave to blow out his cake candle and was given a special card to commemorate the day!

We love you N!

Soon after, we said goodbye to L and F, gobbled our snacks all gone and set out for step park! Once we were there E was so excited to see Ohana International School students planting flowers! K was so excited to plant a flower that he jumped and ran to Tamara with a huge smile! Henry also had the chance to sit and relax in the flower bed with his friends!

What a colorful day we had today!

Thank you everyone and have a great evening!

Love, Buds
