What is your favorite thing?

We had a super fun morning playing with the shaving cream today! We put on our art smocks to keep our shirts clean then our teachers put a pile of shaving cream in our hands! We enjoyed the sensory experience and practiced drawing shapes with our fingers! We also continued doing the Brick Names craft and made a face on a clear cup then planted some seeds! At the play area, we had wood blocks to stack!

M: Esmi, I think I want to read a book.

*Shaving cream activity*

I: I can draw a heart!

P: I like this!

E: It smells good!

J: More please!

We cleaned everything up then danced to some songs and then sang our “Name” song.

Our topic for today was about our favorite things! Nimo started by opening the Four Season book and asked us which one was our favorite.

Nimo: I would like for you to talk about what season you like. Let me start. I like summer because I don’t like the cold and I like the sun.

I: I like Winter, because I like to build a snowman.

M: Winter! Because I can play with the snow. We cannot eat the snow.

E: Winter! I can make a snowman and snowdog. In Hokkaido, there is so much snow and I use the ice cream (machine) to make ice cream and I eat it! The snow is clean.

R: I like winter too, because of the Deer.

J: Winter. I can eat ice cream and sleep.

J: Winter, because it’s cold.

M: I like snow, winter. Me and daddy and mommy go to look at the snow so I like it. I like to kick the snow.

P: Summer! I like hot. I don’t like cold. I like swimming because I like water.

S: Winter.

W: Fall. I like the colors.

Y: Summer. Swim.

D: I like winter because I go to the train to P’s house.

S: Esmi, which season do you like?

Esmi: I like Fall.

S: Why?

Esmi: Because my birthday is in Fall.

M: Evita which season do you like?

Evita: I like fall too.

E: Why?

Evita: Because it’s not too cold or hot, and I like the colors.

Today’s story was, “I Like Me” by Nancy Carlson. It was about a cute pig who talked about the things she liked!

J: Bicycle!

M: I ride a red bike

J: I like blue bike.

M: I cannot ride a bike.

E: I like to ride my bicycle 100 fast!

Y: Happy!

We took a short brain break and did some Yoga! Nimo remembered that our friends said they wanted to do yoga yesterday so Nimo found a book with some poses. We met Myrna who showed us how to do yoga! We did a few poses like an airplane, a boat, a camel, and a dog.

We sat back down in a circle and talked about our favorite toys!

D: I like my cars. I have 100 cars!

E: Ultraman toy.

R: Horse I have a big horse!

J: Yellow Ultraman toy.

J: Bus!

M: Bicycle.

W: Cars.

S: Rabbit.

Y: I like trains.

P: I like all of my toys.

Nimo: Which one is your favorite?

P: Micky Mouse doll.

M: Dinosaur.

It was raining again today so we did Gym class! We did some stretching and warming up then played a few hopscotch games! For the first round, our teachers put out the colored bean bags at the other side of the classroom and asked us to get our favorite color. We jumped on the hopscotch squares then got a bean bag and hopped back. Then we told the class, “My favorite color is red”! The second round was with the animals!
