A trip to England
Hello everyone,
Good afternoon everybody! We hope you had a fantastic weekend! Today we went on a trip to the UK! It was so fun.
To commemorate the trip to England today we did a craft on the small table. We used paint dot markers to make a red cross and then stuck blue tissue to give texture. The Union Jack (British flag) has red white and blue colors. A enjoyed splashing colors on the page with the paint dot markers she told the teachers the colors she was using “blue! Blue! Blue!” she chanted. S loved making his flag, he gave a little smile as he stuck the tissue carefully on the paper whereas E loved putting lots of energy into tapping the dot marker all over the page.
On the sensory table we had a special messy play today. We used Oobleck (mixture of water and cornstarch). The consistency was very peculiar, a mixture between a solid and a liquid. L was mesmerized by it. He loved scooping it with the spoon and raising it over his head and watching it drop down into the bowl. S also spent a lot of time at the oobleck table with his friend S who liked putting his entire hand in the ooblek bowl, it is fun to have messy sensory play sometimes! L loved the oobleck; she used two spoons to transfer the liquid between both spoons, nice work.
At the front table there were some crayons with a huge red white and blue flag in the middle of the paper. Upon further inspection we established it was the Union jack flag with red crossed and blue background. The Union Jack is the flag of the united kingdom of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. K saw the flag drawing and pointed excitedly. He did some nice drawings with his friend S who liked the red crayon to scribble with. R preferred collecting the blue crayons all in her hands and she smiled as she held them all. L worked hard to develop her pencil drip as she scribbled!
At the back of the room we had some malleable Playdoh. I enjoyed working hard to stamp vehicle shapes into the green play Doh. N was making yummy cookies with the cookie shaped cookie cutters he gave them to his teachers, thank you!
Today Lucy showed us a big blue and green ball. It was huge, R really wanted the ball and she outstretched her hands. Lucy explained this was the earth.
We sang “pass the earth round and round.” as we practised passing the ball making sure to get a good look at all of the countries.

“This is Japan," said Lucy. L pointed and was so excited to touch it.
“Tody we will go alllll the way to where i am from in England”
We stretched our arms out to the side and we became airplanes. We flew so fast and up and down. S was really realistic as a plane and S made some great plane sound effects.
Finally, we landed in Heathrow. Lucy showed us a big piece of cardboard it had lots of pictures on it. I pointed to a clock.
Lucy explained this clock was called Big ben and we listened to its loud chime and we tried to make a loud noise just like the clock S said
“Bong bong bong bong, bong bong bong bong”.
We then got to explore the different animals that reside in the UK.
We got together as we sang “walking in the forest, walking in the forest. We are not afraid, we are not afraid”

We got to meet all the animals that are found in the forests in the UK. Foxes, badgers, Moles and a big toad. We had fun pretending to be the animals.
It was almost time to take the airplane back to Japan but before that Lucy taught us a famous song from England “London Bridge is Falling Down”

E knew all of the words to it singing “down” multiple times, we were so impressed!
“Dong dong dong dong. Dong dong dong dong” said Big ben… it was time to go back to Japan. We enjoyed flying back through the skies until we arrived back in Japan… What a journey!
Today we practised some digging at the park ready for spring where we will plant some flowers in April. Before we plant we have to clean the soil. Some of us enjoyed using the digging tools to rake up the leaves and weeds. K was very happy with his accomplishment.
Across in the sandpit some of our other friends were enjoying climbing and going down the slide. R and L braved the slide multiple times, giggling as they came down. L climbed all the way to the top and S was great at climbing the stairs. E and N worked hard to scoop up clumps of sand into the buckets, nice work!
We hope you have a great evening, see you tomorrow!
Love, Buds
