Today was a great day to exercise our hands, fingers and more! We began by discovering a giant illustration of a cute elephant on top of the front activity table as we walked in!  There were many different color crayons available for us to choose from! L went right to work exploring the different colored circle lines she could make. It looked like clouds in the sky!

Our amazing green play doh was at the back table. H and Y were best buddy bakers inside the Buds bakery! H used the zig zag cutter and gave pieces to Y, who then chopped them with a cookie cutter. Delicious!

Inside the sensory table, there were many soft flowers, hard wood chips and magnifying glasses for us to investigate what makes them so different! Y grabbed a magnifying glass and looked at everything! She loves seeing things up close. N and S explored the shining cds and stacked flowers on top of them. N even gave some extra flowers to his friends. Thank you for sharing N! K and N gave a go at using the grabbers and showing off how to properly hold them using our fingers!

On top of the art table, we painted a beautiful pink and blue background by using stampers for the pink color and paint rollers for the blue color. S and H were very excited to stamp pink paint and giggled as they thumped the pink colors onto the paper. They looked like sakura petals! L also came over to try out the blue rollers and was so focused while making the blue paint dance across the paper! Beautiful! We will use them to create paper dolls for Hina Matsuri!

Once we finished cleaning up, we all sat down to sing our greeting song! Brandon shared that Shelley will come on Thursday to share a bit about South Africa! To prepare our minds and bodies, Brandon gave us gray colored tissue paper to rip and paste onto a white poster board. We learned that the gray color represents the color of an elephant and that we will trace our hands to cut out different animals from South Africa! N was very excited to rip and place his small pieces onto the sticky surface. He had such a big smile! T also ripped up and stuck on some of his own pieces! It was fun because the glue gave us the challenge of carefully sticking the gray tissue on. We can’t wait to share the final product!

Pretty soon, it was time for us to clean up and enjoy our snacks. Before we washed our hands, we listened to “Hakuna Matata” and  “skinamarink a dink” while shaking bells together. The song links are here if you would like to listen at home! https://youtu.be/6916kVhbEZw?si=GfOBoq3MLNZHtgeu https://youtu.be/N7VNj6lAFgY?si=cadv3Wn0bi4waFX4

Soon, we were off to step park! On our way, we were so proud of N as he held the rope so nicely! Way to go! We had the chance to play in the sand and explore the fun, exciting textures of the sandbox. Many of us got the chance to show off our gross motor skills by climbing, sliding and more at the park! K was especially brave to go down the big slide with Brandon and all his friends! WHOOOSH!

Thank you so much for today and have a great evening everyone!

 Love, Buds
