This morning on the front table, there were bright and colorful board puzzles set and ready to solve! L quickly ran over to investigate the animal puzzle with I. She really loves the big purple hippopotamus! SNORT! S immediately fell in love with the big yellow school bus puzzle! He loved picking up the pieces with a big smile and making a ‘clack’ sound with them against the board.
Over at the back table, our pink play doh was waiting patiently for us to sculpt BUT we noticed that it was a bit harder to work with! This didn’t stop us from having fun AND giving our hands and fingers more of an exercise! K found it fun to slice through the hard clumps with his cutter. He was very focused while squishing clay together! K came over and gave a crack at rolling his clump flat. He looked up at Liezel and smiled a big grin when he flattened his clump.
At the sensory table, we found beautiful seashells hidden throughout colorful rice! E and S happily scooped up spoonfuls of rice and even shared different spoons to one another. Nice sharing friends!
On top of the art table, we started some of the wrap up on our Dad’s Day art banner collab! S loved pasting pieces of colorful tissue paper onto the secret letters! Soon his friends came by to check it out and wanted to join in. He really loves gluing!
Once everyone finished cleaning up, we sat down on our favorite color together for circle time! L was so brave to say the names of his friends with a big voice and also counted his friends along with Brandon from one to twelve! Nice work!
Brandon brought along a toy black bear who asked us our names! It was very cute and we learned that Brandon is from the United States. He showed us a map of the world that had North America on it and then of Tennessee, where his mountain home was! Ichiri pointed to the shape of Tennessee when the teachers asked if they could find it on the map! He unfolded a bandana and noticed there were stars on it! Brandon told us that it was the flag of his home country, the United States.
He showed us another special animal that can be found in rivers and streams there, fish! We each got to take a turn holding them. N was curious about the fish and was surprised to see it wiggle when he touched it! WOW!
It was fun to see where Brandon is from and what some of his favorite animals from there were! We said bye bye to the black bear and fish before we read the story “Spot Loves His Friends”.
After cleaning up our snacks, we set out to the park and began exploring! R was very curious about some of the plants growing near the fence line. She loves nature!
Nearby, L was scooping more dirt and filling up the tree trunk beside the gate. Our fun day came to a close as we finished playing, made our way back to eat lunch and take a rest!
Thank you so much for a wonderful Monday everyone!
Love,
Buds
