Unscrambling Words
Happy Wednesday! We have been having a great day in Flowers Class!
CIRCLE TIME
We quickly reviewed the topic for this week!
W: Code breaking!
On Monday we broke the number code, and yesterday we broke the picture code.
Today’s code will be a bit different. We first took turns writing 3 letters on the board “ATC.” Does it spell anything? We said, “no!”
T: It’s cat!
T: I think we can spell cat!
We then rearranged the letters to spell the word!
Next, we played a game where we put words back in their correct order after they’ve been cut up! It’s like putting together a word/letter puzzle!
We enjoyed our game yesterday, so we requested that today’s activity be the same!
M: I want to do a race!
T: It was fun!
We split into groups of 4 and were given a set of 10 cut up words each to put back together! After this round, each team got all the words correct.
For the second round each team had two broken sentences to put back together. Each team got 1 correct and one was not quite right.
After a second chance, we finally got both sentences correct! Today’s game ended in a tie!
M: It’s equal!? Oh, my goodness!
Then we had a chance to make our own word scrambles by drawing a picture and writing the word before cutting the paper into three parts!
See you tomorrow for more code breaking!
Love,
