Can Kids Have Jobs?
May 8, 2024
Happy Wednesday! It’s been an awesome day in Flowers Class!
CIRCLE TIME
We started our circle with another pattern using actions. We tried another 3-step pattern.
Ma: Snap
Ty: Sleep
Re: Funny face
After that, Ei asked for a more challenging 4-step pattern.
Ke: Stretch
Oj: Funny face
Ve: Snap
Ei: Sleep
4 steps were a bit too difficult, and we needed quite a bit of help to make it all the way around the circle. Maybe we’ll try again tomorrow.
QUESTION OF THE DAY
Yu & Th: Can kids have a job?
Let’s see what we think!
An: Yes. Helping each other.
Hi: Yes. Learning from teacher. Going to school.
Re: No. Adults have a job, so kids don’t need.
Ma: No. If you want to be police, you can learn when you grow up and you can do it.
We thought about the jobs of police officer and doctor. We have never seen someone like us (4 or 5 years old) policing the streets or treating us when we’re sick. So, we decided that there are some jobs that we can have, and others that we can’t do until we’re grown up. How old do we have to be to be grown up?
Hi: 18
Re: 20 or 18. 18, you can drive a car.
Ty: 100!
Ei: 16
Mi: 10
Ve: 7
Ri: 17
An: 19
Ma: 20
We mostly think that we will become adults sometime between 16-20 years old. We still have a lot of time and school left before we’re adults and we start our careers!
HOT SEAT GAME
We played a game where we give hints to someone to help them guess which profession we are holding up behind them. Here are a few of our hints and guesses. Can you guess which job?
Round 1!

That’s right, a pilot!
Thanks for playing with us!
Have a wonderful evening! See you tomorrow!
