I like to eat...
Happy Thursday Everyone! It was super cold this morning, but our classroom was warm and cozy! We started our morning playing with the alphabet letters and playdough. We searched through the pool of alphabets to find our letter and stamp them on the playdough! J, M, and S got the playdough pasta maker and told us they were going to make Yakisoba! Yummy! L, R, and R played with the miniature dinosaurs in the kinetic sand. There was a mommy, daddy, and baby dinosaur and they went on an adventure! A, Y, and B worked together to make a super tall tower out of the wood blocks! N, T, and E make food out of the playdough and fed them to the teachers!
After our free play time, we packed away our toys and joined hands to make a circle. We did some body movements and got warmed up before we all sat down on a star. We started our circle time with music! We sang the good morning song, ABC, and I Like To Eat… songs.
J: I can draw ABC!
M: Me too! I can draw A and B!
Y: I can do I and L!
T: I like to eat beetles!
Y: I like bananas.
M: Yesterday, I ate pancakes.
N: I ate apples and bananas.
J: I ate saba toast.
Today we were going to talk about food we love to eat. To kick start our discussion, Nimo started by reading a book, “Dragons Love Tacos” by Adam Rubin and Daniel Salmieri. It was a fun little book about how much Dragons love tacos, but they don’t like spicy tacos.
M: Dragons are big!
R: I have a dinosaur toy.
J: I have a toy doggie!
L: Too many tacos!
N: The dragons need to chew!
M: One time at the restaurant I eat tacos.
J: Yesterday, I ate tacos with my brother.
R: I eat tacos with sour cream.
Next we started talking about the food we like.
J and M: I like ice cream!
E: I like this one *pointed at the cake*.
L: Cookies!
R: I don’t like eggs.
T: I like pizza!
M: That’s an eggplant. I don’t like it.
N: Broccoli! I like broccoli!
S: Strawberry! I like strawberry.
T: I like cucumber!
Nimo: Do you like apples Brendan?
B: *Nods*
R: That is corn. I like corn!
After we talked about the foods we like, we split up into small groups and sat down at a table with a teacher. Our teachers handed us a white plate and some crayons. Nimo wanted us to draw our favorite food on the white plate. Before we drew our favorite food, fruit, or vegetable, Nimo asked us to think about what shape our favorite fruit or vegetable is and what color it is. We all did a wonderful job filling up our plate with all of our favorite things!
Once we were done drawing, we washed our hands and ate our snacks. We finished on time so we were able to play at Step Park today! We had a wonderful time playing in the sand box or running around in the green area with Flowers!
Thank you for another fabulous day! Hope you all have a restful evening and we will see you all again tomorrow!
