Our animal friends and their families!
Happy Tuesday everyone!
To start our day, we were all attracted by the light table which was installed on one of the two activity tables. On top there were transparent colored papers cut into the shape of different animals such as a kangaroo, a fish, a frog or even an ostrich. It was very interesting to see the light pierce the paper and to play with the shadows of the animals reflecting on the table.
Then we added transparent colored lego blocks on the table and while N played with the animals, L had a lot of fun building a tower with the legos while the light from the table shined through the transparent pieces.
On the second activity table was our group art project. We are so happy to see our project come to an end. Although we are sad to see it end, we are also excited to start a new project soon. After having covered our feet with paint to walk on our poster and follow the bear's paws, after having used animal figurines as stamps to add other footprints on our poster, after having cut out and pasted animal patterns paper, it's time for us to create our own animals by adding googly eyes and stickers on our poster, it was so exciting!
In our free play area, since the theme of the day was animals and their families, we had adult and baby animal figurines to play with. N had fun taking books and pointing at the characters in the book, saying who was mommy, who was daddy and who was baby. A and I meanwhile used the dollhouse’s furniture to make a home for our animals.
Then T asked Marjorie to play with the cars and O and D were very happy to play with the cars too. And Brandon had a great idea to make the car game even funnier: he folded half of one of the tables to turn it into a giant slide and everyone had a lot of fun sliding the cars down the hill.
To put ourselves in a good mood we also played with our drums and L, B and T put on an incredible concert!
During our circle time, after singing our good morning song, Marjorie showed us animal figures and we had to recognize if they were mommy and daddy or if they were babies. I easily recognizes baby animals and L and N are very good at recognizing mommies and daddies. After this activity, Marjorie read us the story of Mama and Baby Bear by Jillian Harker and Kristina Stephenson called "I love Mommy".
Then we went to the nearby temple’s garden and when we got back it was already time to eat our lunch!
Thank you for today everyone!
Please take care, have a wonderful afternoon and see you all tomorrow!
Love,
Buds Friends
