What's in the nest ?
Happy Tuesday everyone!
Today was filled with activities! We started the day with two different activities on the activity tables! On the first we had little bear figurines of different colors and different sizes and we had to sort them by category! D had fun sorting them by color: red, blue, yellow and green and repeating the colors after his teacher. L saw the bears and said “small” and “big” before starting to sort them by size and I came and arranged the bears by family saying “It’s mom, it’s dad and it’s baby".
On the second activity table our teachers installed different sensory elements such as shells, feathers, eggs, logs and different other elements to help us discover different textures and different environments. L saw the feathers and eggs and said “It’s a nest”! M really liked the feeling of the feathers on her face and laughed a lot when the feathers tickled her neck! Liezel showed our buds friends that if we put the big shells next to our ear we could hear the sound of the sea and N and B were very interested! N found it more fun to make very high towers by stacking all the logs on top of each other.
O and T enjoyed the most the activity in the free play area where our teachers had installed balls so that we could practice for our big event tomorrow; sports day! And they both know how to throw balls very well!
The other half of the free play area was filled with train tracks and this is one of the activities that L and A preferred today!
We started circle time with Marjorie showing us a nest with an egg in it but the egg was yellow with black stripes and N said it wasn't an egg but a bumblebee and I agreed and laughed seeing the bumblebee!
Then we all put our hands in the nest because there were a lot of eggs in it and we were all able to take one, L said “careful” when he took his egg and he was right, we have to use gentle hands with the eggs and L repeated “careful” and showed to all our buds friends how he used his gentle hands.
And once we all had our eggs, we could start making music because our eggs were shaky eggs maracas! We danced to the music shaky shaky eggs before sitting down to discover the story of Laura Vaccaro Seeger “First the egg” which shows us the evolution of different animals like that of the egg and the chicken or that of the caterpillar and the butterfly.
Then we went to the park and we really enjoyed meeting our flower friends there because we practiced running together and we sang our cheering songs and we were all very proud when our flower friends applauded us!
Then it was already time to go back to school to eat our lunch!
Thank you for today everyone! Have a wonderful evening and see you all tomorrow!
WE ARE THE BUDS CLASS, WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS, WE’RE NOT AFRAIIIIID!
