Making our very own sensory bottles!

We had another fabulous day at school! We started our morning playing with play dough. Today we had the number mats and tried turning our play dough into numbers! On our play table, we had magnet shapes and finger puppets. We used the Magnets to make houses, stores, and other props for our finger puppets! Once we built our stage, we enjoyed doing pretend play. Out in our play area, our teachers got Duplo Blocks. Our friends did a great job working together to make a big big Tokyo Tower!

After we packed away the toys we gathered into a circle and did some music and dancing! We sat down on our stars and then talked about our Sports Day coming up! We practiced our chant a few times and started our activity for the day. Our topic this month is about garbage. Our teachers collected a lot of bottles and reused them to turn them into toys! Today, we helped our teachers make “Sensory Bottles”! Evita showed us two bottles, one had glitter inside and the other had a small plastic bag that looked like a jellyfish.

R: It’s orange!

M: Is that water?

R: I go up (pointed at the thing inside the bottle)

I: Water!

R: There’s a bag inside.

M: It’s a jellyfish.

Y: They sting, they are scary.

After we had a short discussion about the sensory bottles we split up into groups and started making our very own sensory bottles! First, we chose what color glitter we wanted to use. We poured glitter into our bottles then our teachers added a small drop of dish soap. Next, we added some clear glue inside. For the last step, we filled the bottle up with water all the way to the top! Our teachers helped us seal the bottle tight and we were free to shake, spin, and turn the bottle. We loved watching the glitter dance around in our bottle! Our teachers told us they will be keeping the bottles at school so we can play with them anytime we are here!

Once we were all done crafting our bottles we had our snacks and then got ready to go to the park. Once we were at the park we headed over to the green area. Before we all ran off and did our thing, Evita asked us to line up against the net. We were going to try practicing for our races on sports day! Ready, set, go! We dashed as fast as we could to the other side! Next, our teachers opened a bag full of balls! We each got one or two balls and for the whole park time, we had a great time practicing throwing and catching!

We were so hungry and exhausted from the park! We quickly gobbled up our lunch and then fell fast asleep!

Thank you all for another fabulous day! Have a great evening and we will see you all again tomorrow!

Love,

Petals
