This is the way we walk to the park...
Happy Thursday Everyone!
Hope you all had a fabulous day! We sure did at school! We started our morning playing with more play dough for our sensory and fine motor skills! On our other table, we had a painting activity for the friends that haven’t had the chance to do it yet. On our play area, we had Lego blocks. J, R, L, Y, N, M, and Y worked together to make an amazing Dinosaur House! M worked on a different house all by himself. He made a big square house for Bob the Builder! At the play dough table, T made a beetle friend out of clay. R and E had fun making tiny little eggs! I and A followed the instructions to make a big snail! D, S, and R did a great job painting with the junk materials! It was a lot of fun mixing the colors and trying to paint with materials we usually don't use!
After our morning free play time, we gathered into a circle to quickly review what we talked about yesterday.
Evita: Is okay to not listen?
M: It’s not ok…
T: No, Thank you!
Evita: Why is it not okay to listen to teachers?
R: Hmm…I don’t know…
J: We have to listen to mom and dad.
R: Listening.
Evita explained the reason why we need to listen to our teachers. Our teachers set rules because they want all of us to have fun, but we also be safe. The rules are there to make sure we don’t get hurt and don’t get others hurt.
Evita: When we are walking can we grab things?
J: No!
Y: Ya!
J: We have to put our hands up while walking.
M: Don’t touch the wall.
M: You might get a spider…
Evita: What can we do if we see our friends grabbing something when we are walking?
J: We say, “No, Thank You”.
Evita: What do we need for the park?
R: We need to grab our park rope.
M: And water bottle.
M: Change shoes!
We just finished talking about what we needed for the park and how to walk to the park nicely. After our circle time, we quickly did what we talked about!
We went to Step Park today and had a blast! Some of us went to the Green Area with Sayaka and played ball! At the sandbox, Nimo brought some digging toys! With Evita, we walked around the park searching for nice materials to put on our artwork! We picked up lots of small rocks, grasses, and flower petals. We made sure to only pick up the things that were on the floor. We know that picking leaves or flowers off of the plant is ouchie for them.
A short while later, Flowers Class joined us at the park! We enjoyed playing with our older friends! When we got back to school we were all so hungry and tired! We cooled down in the classroom and then lined up nicely to have our lunch!
Thank you for another lovely day!
See you all again tomorrow!
