Drawing our Friends!
Happy Friday everyone! We had another wonderful day at school!
We started our day with a short free play time! On our art table, our teachers prepared various kinds of paint! We used a big paintbrush and freely covered our paper with colors! It was amazing seeing how the colors mixed together! On our activity tables, we had play dough and magnet shapes! In our play area, we had the toy cars! We packed away our toys early today and gathered in a circle for a little music time! We danced head, shoulders, knees, and toes, and then took a look at our Class Calendar. We sang the 7 Days of the Week song and talked about what day it was today.
Evita: If yesterday was “Thursday” and tomorrow is “Saturday”, what day is it today?
Petals: Hmmmm….
Evita: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday……
Ra: Friday!
R: Friday!
After a short talk about the calendar, we did a fun little activity with our friends! On the table, our teachers prepared a clear partition with a thin sheet of cellophane on it. One friend sat behind the cellophane and another friend tried drawing their face! Our friends seemed to really enjoy the art activity! After we were done drawing, we took a look at each other’s drawings and admired their work!
Y: That was fun!
A: I drew my friend’s face!
Once everyone had a turn to draw and get drawn, we lined up to wash our hands and go to the toilet. We ate our snacks and got ready to go to the park. While we waited for everyone to get ready Sayaka read us a story, “When Jelly Had A Wobble” by Michelle Robinson and Tom Knight. It was a story about a shy and giggly Jelly. He was very nervous about the Kitchen Hall of Fame event, where one food would be crowned the Best. The wobbly Jelly didn’t think anyone would ever vote for him and he didn’t want to attend the event. With some help from his friends, he found the courage to join the event and eventually won!
I: That is ice cream!
R: Why is the Jelly wobbling?
M: I like cake.
At the park, we had another fabulous time running around and digging in the sand. Our friends found a Cicada and a Catapillar! We enjoyed carefully and gently observing them.
T: Semi!!!! (Cicada)
E: Wow!
M: Look it’s a caterpillar.
L: So small…
M: It’s fluffy
A: Let’s slide!
When we got back from the park we cooled down a little bit and our teachers helped us change our shirts if it was too sweaty.
L: I’m out of water.
J: He needs more water! It’s empty!
Y: Me too! More water, please!
After lunch, some of our friends did a little drawing before they went home.
D: This Mama and papa!
Thank you for another fabulous week! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and we will see you all again on Monday!
Love
