Flowers, Flowers, Flowers!

Decorating Cards

For our upcoming Mother’s Day event, our teacher pulled out paper decors that could be arranged to form a flower. This activity was intended for us to share what we know about the structure of a flower. We were given cut outs of the flower, stem, leaf, and grass.

Together with Tamara, I, R, K, K, M, N, and I decorated their cards.

A thought of putting flowers on her clothes as its design while G thought of using the sakura printed bowl as her hat.

Painting on Recycled Items Part Two!

Yesterday’s activity station was brought out again for us to finish painting on the remaining recycled items. It is interesting how almost the same group of friends who worked on decorating cards were also the ones who worked in this station.

T enjoyed using the brush to paint and drew strokes on the table

While all these stations were taking place, W the Express train was going around the room greeting everyone.

Kabuto for Children’s Day

Together with Hisami and Liezel, we made kabuto made out of newspaper to celebrate Children’s Day on May 5. To add decor, we peeled and stuck stickers on it. Doheon thought of a cool idea of sticking a sticker on his forehead.

Circle Time

We did a part two of listening to different versions of the song “L-O-V-E”. Erika thought of using it as a template to do our morning roll call as well! The aim of the activity was to introduce us to phonics as the beginning sound of each of our names were used to replace “L-O-V-E”.

Using Hervé Tullet’s book “Imagine”, we did a recap of the topics we have discussed and looked for pictures that we can relate to our present situation. When a page with planets and moon was shown, we were asked, “Who is wearing a top with planets & moon on?” This activity was made for us to be cognizant of our surroundings.

We also changed the lyrics of “If You’re Happy and You Know It” to check on everyone’s emotions and feelings for the day. When someone was feeling sad, we showed a sad face. When someone was feeling silly, we made a clicking sound with our tongue to make funny sounds.

Outdoor Play

During Outdoor Play, I enjoyed feeling the texture of leave in between his fingers.

O, K, G shared creative ideas on how to use the rings differently… they used it as a necklace and when twisted, pretended to have a beautiful yellow ribbon.

We wish everyone a wonderful Golden Week break!

Love,
