Preparing for Mother's Day
Our activities today are in preparation for our “BLOOMING MOMS” day this Friday! Here’s what we did:
Pasta Station
The Pasta Station was both an imaginative and sensory play area. Before everyone came in, this station was intended to practice counting and arranging. K and G thought of blowing through the holes of the pasta to produce a whistling sound.
When everyone arrived, it was time to add colors to it by painting it using our hands. K and N, together with Erika, explored and experimented with colors by mixing and guessing what color would come out of it.
Play Area
N and Ws bond is getting stronger as they enjoy doing collaborative narrative play using trains. R, who starts to look up to our older friends, enjoys being around them to be one of the next leaders in class!
S and M both worked on their matching skills by putting items of the same color together
A, using the colored wooden pegs, identified colors
E worked on identifying colors and numbers in English using a wooden toy
S worked on putting together connecting disks while I was of great help picking those that fell on the floor
A worked on counting the beads in the abacus
T and Goh San wondered at the magical looking water sensory bottle that K brought along with her
Circle Time
For Circle Time, we read “Spot Loves His Mommy” book in preparation for Mother’s Day. We also enjoyed singing and dancing to Slippery Fish and taking the lead during Music and Movement.
For our Morning Roll Call, we changed the lyrics of Nat King Cole’s “L-O-V-E” to introduce ourselves.
Outdoor Play
We had a fun time running barfoot out at the Green Area of Step Park. D enjoyed picking flowers while outside.
We hope you all are having a wonderful Tuesday so far!
Love,
Buds Class Children
