The Hot Air Balloons in Turkey

Preparing For Dad’s Day

We are looking forward to having our dads in our classroom this Thursday and we are preparing a special signage to welcome them. Together with Kiki, we decorated letters for the signage with various items that we enjoy touching such as pompoms, glitters, and buttons.

Through this activity, W got to show us his counting skills while pasting buttons & learned how to flip open bottles’ lids containing glitters while M got to explore with her fingers the fluffiness of colorful pompoms.

Bubble Wrap and Connecting Blocks

We continued coloring the bubble wrap using dot markers and were still astonished with the popping sound that stamping on it made. K spent time untwisting the caps off the dot markers.

Apart from stamping, two types of connecting blocks were also laid out on top of the bubble wrap for added fun. Using the connecting blocks requires being observant of its features to be able to successfully connect it. J noticed the difference between the two types and concluded that blocks with round ends go together and ones with squared ends connected.

Updated “ A BUD’S LIFE” Wall

Our teachers have updated our “A BUD’S LIFE” wall and we are thrilled to see photos of one another over the past two weeks which were full of memorable events such as Teachers Appreciation Week and Valentine’s Day.
J came in and noticed a photo of a friend whom he hadn't met yet… he asked, “Who’s that?” and our newest member L came by to say hello to him. K and W bonded by mimicking the facial expressions of their friends in the photos.

Animals and Vehicles that Go Through the Woods

In congruence with fairytales to introduce the continent of Europe, a wood like sensory play area was set up wherein we could drive vehicles and move animals around it. W figured that a plane could fly over the woods while S thought of driving vehicles on the “trunks” of the trees. J used a digger to dig out the white soil. A enjoyed stacking blocks to build a castle.

Circle Time

For our morning roll call, each of us were given a piece of a castle puzzle. When everyone received a piece, we had to wait for our name to be called before being able to place the pieces on top of a cushion to form a castle.

Erika brought out a book that showed us different castles located in Europe. We had mixed emotions upon seeing  photos of real knights. A country located in between Europe and Asia was introduced to us this morning and it’s Turkey! We learned that saying “hello” in the Turkish language sounded similar to Egypt’s “Marhaba!”.

A popular way to explore one of Turkey’s famous places named “Cappadocia” was by riding in a hot air balloon. We watched a video of how a hot air balloon inflates and goes up in the sky over the beautiful landscapes of Cappadocia.

To explore the concept of inflating balloons, we were each given a balloon with a straw attached to it wherein we could blow to see if it would “grow” as big as a hot air balloon! Guess who amongst us blew the biggest balloon!

Outdoor Play

We also went out to the park to enjoy the beautiful weather. Most of us are showing great ball kicking skills and a better sense of balance while running around the green area of Step Park.

We hope everyone is having a great Monday so far!

Love,
