Happy, grumpy, sad, sleepy and playful little pumpkins

Happy Monday everyone!

Can you believe it ? We’re already entering our second week of october, time flies by so fast!

Today we discovered more about Halloween with our pumpkin themed day and our friend Jack O lantern!

On the first activity table we played with playdough and practiced making balls to make our own pumpkins! B was very excited to show all the pumpkins he made! N and M followed B's gestures and also created their pumpkin, N was so excited to show his pumpkin to his teacher.

On the other table we started our pumpkin crafts! After our ghosts, it’s time for pumpkins! To make them we made a game with marbles! It was so funny! We put our white paper cut into the shape of a pumpkin in a large bowl and added paint-covered marbles to the bowl. We had 3 colors: orange, purple and black. Then all we had to do was move the bowl in all directions so that the balls full of paint rolled on the paper and made lines like spider webs! L and D particularly liked this game, they put their marbles back in the paint lots of times before putting them back on the paper, their hands were covered in paint! but we all had a lot of fun doing this activity.

In the free play area we have lego blocks and D created a super big house while L, N and N had fun creating cars.

We started our circle time by getting into the Halloween mood by dancing to the song Halloween stomp by Bounce Patrol. We flew like Superman, jumped like ninjas and even walked around like robots.

Then we sat in a circle and met 5 little pumpkins with 5 different emotions: happy, grumpy, sad, sleepy and playful. L, N and L were very good at imitating the emotions of our 5 little pumpkins, I really liked imitating sleepy! We listen to the five little pumpkins song while imitating the emotions all together.

Then Marjorie read us “The scarecrows’ wedding” by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.

As it was raining really hard we didn't go out today so we did an inside sport session instead with the tunnel as well as the foam stairs and slide! And before eating our lunch, we had a costume party! I, I and M loved dressing up with funny wigs and accessories !

Thank you for today everyone! Have a wonderful afternoon and see you all tomorrow!

Love,

Buds
