The World Map
Happy Friday everyone! We had a fun morning full of activities! Out on the balcony we played with nature toys (sticks, rocks, pinecones) and some water! In the classroom we continued our Kakizome with Sayaka and played with some more play dough with Marjorie! At the play area we had animal toys we could play with! After a morning full of fun, we packed away our toys then got ready to eat our snacks!
We had our snacks and got ready for the park like usual. We gathered into a circle and sang some songs together. We really wanted Nimo to read us a story, so we chose, “That’s Good! That’s Bad!” by Margery Cuyler and David Catrow. We enjoyed the silly story then we started our first circle time. Today we had K’s Show and Tell! Now that we have some new friends in Petals Class, our teachers wanted our new friends to do their Lifebook Show and Tell to introduce their family to the class. K is the first one of the batch.
Nimo: This is Kazu’s family!
K: L, T, mommy, and daddy. And me!
Nimo: Who would like to count how many people are in Kazu’s family?
G: One…two…three… four…five… Five!
Nimo: Do you know mommy’s name?
K: Ya! Mommy!
Nimo: Daddy’s name?
K: Daddy!
Nimo: You have a doggie! What is his name?
K: Doggie… Dog run
M: Oh look! *points at a picture* It’s “Pass the Parcel” game! You know Pass the Parcel? We pass the presents and open it. There is a present you get to keep inside.
Nimo: Are you eating your finger!? Was it yummy?!
K: Hahaha, yummy!
K Birthday!
K: Look!
Nimo: What are you drinking?

Nimo: Oh that’s Kazu’s shoes?
G: Baby shoes!

K: 1
What are you doing here?

Nimo: Are you at a hotel?
C: I turn to four on my next birthday!
We thanked K for the lovely Show and Tell then we all headed to step park!
At the park we played with the ropes and balls with Flowers Class. We had a great time playing tug-o-war!
When we got back to school, Nimo showed us a globe and the world map. We learned a new song about our 7 continents! Nimo pointed at the continents as we sang the song together. Before we had our Lunch, Nimo asked us to guess where we lived on the map.
