Tuesday, Second Day!

Hi, Ohana families!

Our first Tuesday started with a few tears, but mostly fun and discovery. We had another nice, long free play time with some new toys and materials. The children are getting to know each other and are already playing nicely together.

We had some more nice art work today, with some children working on their drawer labels, and some children making some free art. Art will be an integral part of the Petals class this year, and we have some who are already showing a great interest in making art as part of their free play time.

After free play time, we had a snack together. Thanks for sending in such healthy and yummy snacks every day!

Then we had a book time. We try to rotate our books often to maintain the children’s interest in reading and to go along with our themes of study. Children love to lie down by themselves with a book or read together. It’s a peaceful little down time in the middle of a busy day.

For our circle time today, Jake and the children sang the hello song, and we all said hello. The new ones are quickly learning the hello song, while the old-timers are happy to belt out the words happily. We read the first part of “From Head to Toe,” thinking about parts of our bodies and how they can move like different animals. R and G remembered to answer “I can do it!” after the teacher asked “Can you do it?”

Then we packed up and went home after an excellent Day Two in Petals Class.

Thanks very much!
