The Food for the Baby

Good morning everyone! It's a beautiful day again in Buds class, and the weather just became hot, but we're also thankful to see Mr. Sun show up today. It was really great how our friends greeted us, and our teachers also gave us a warm welcome and good morning to our friends and teachers.

Table Activities

Playdough

Aside from the materials on the table, we got some kitchen tools and utensils and began making some food for our friends and teachers. We had some play dough on one table and some eyes on the trays. We tried experimenting with our friends by poking, scooping, squeezing, and pinching. We then put our eyes on the dough and made sure that we created some faces with different emotions. Some of our friends also requested to make Ampanman, and it was great how our friends already knew what they wanted.

Fireworks Art

We did a fantastic art yesterday, and it was also nice to add more design and patterns to it. Today, we put more shapes, dots, lines, and scribbles using the various Posca marker colors. It indeed gave an excellent effect on the art piece as we drew the lines all over it. The fireworks became more vibrant and lively! Well done, Buds friends!

Circle Time

It was great to see how our friends went to the circle and did various movements. First, we jumped up high, shook our hips, and marched with our feet. Then, we all sat down and sang our "Good morning song". But this time, the song went something like this. We gathered around and began singing, "Make a circle wide and round."

Hello, hello, hello

I'm very glad to meet you

Hello, hello, hello

It's nice to be with you.

What is your name?

My name is John John.

It's nice to be with you.

We then heard something in the background. A baby was crying, and then our teacher took him out and told us that the baby probably needed something. We had an idea. Since we tried to prepare some food earlier during free play, we might as well give him something. So, we made a sandwich for him. Our friends also gave him some strawberries, potatoes, and broccoli. Lastly, the baby really loved ice cream because it's a hot summer, and we all wanted to cool down a bit.

We also read a book called "It's My Turn" by David Bedford. Our friends need to learn more about taking turns and being patient with everyone and about some things. It was nice to see how we grow in the summer as we continue to the following term.

Free Play

One of the most wonderful things we did today was playing the game "What's the time, Mr. Wolf?" We also learned how to count and made several steps toward the wolf. And when the wolf would say, "It's lunchtime." We all went back to the starting point as fast as we could.

We also played with the new train tracks today, and it was nice to experience various toys and materials we could use in the classroom. We learned how to share and wait for our friends' toy preferences to use.

Thank you so much, Ohana, for another great day! See you all again tomorrow!

Lots of love,

All the children from Buds Class
