Playful lights
Good morning everyone! It’s another fun day in Buds class, and we’re ready for fantastic learning opportunities. Today, we had our special teacher again, Seila! We had so much fun being with her last Monday, and she’s now back to having a great day with us again.
We finished our morning jobs with ease and settled in the classroom well. We noticed that our classroom was again filled with some activities, which all looked exciting.
City lights Art continuation
We did an exquisite artwork with Erika yesterday, and today was another time to put more patterns and decorations on it. This time, we got some glue and spread it all over the black paper. There were cut-out yarns, several pom-poms, and translucent chips in different shapes and sizes. After generously applying the glue, we slowly stuck the materials on the paper. Our friends said that their hands became sticky. We showed our hands to our teachers that we had made a messy play again. We loved this type of activity because we always wanted to touch and feel the materials we used in class.
Light Table Exploration
We got the light table ready on our first table and some translucent and colorful Lego blocks. We were thinking about stacking the lego blocks together and making constructions. Our friends got so creative in making their vehicles and towers. We saw an airplane, a tower, and some cars. We also laid out a blue cellophane paper to see the reflection of colors on the light table. It was a great way to explore and discover new ways of understanding the materials around us.
Animal Figure Play
On the floor, we had some animal figurines. It was great to see how we learned about the animals by asking our teachers the names of each creature. For example, we would ask our teachers what animal it was. Today, we learned words like jaguar, iguana, and lizard.
Piano and music session with Seila
The highlight of our day was Seila playing music with us. She is an excellent pianist and started playing the songs we love singing in the classroom, such as “The Wheels on the Bus, Mary had a little lamb, Head, shoulders, knees and toes, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and Baa, baa, baa black sheep.
Thank you, Seila, for being wonderful today! Seila got a lot of music repertoire, and we couldn’t wait to be with her more in Buds class. She’s a great fit in the classroom and knows our needs whenever we need her help.
Circle time
We began doing our warm-up songs in our morning circle and danced around the classroom. It was lovely when we stopped the music. We all stopped, too, like the freeze dance. Then, we all sat down.
First, our teachers showed us a push-in light, and we all got interested and could quickly turn it on and off. We faced the light up on the ceiling, and we saw the beautiful patterns it made. We had a chance to explore and just turn it on and off.
Next, we had long fairy lights that our teachers turned on. The fairy lights could change their color into yellow, blue, pink, purple, and many other colors. We were in awe and loved to touch them. It was lovely to see how engaged our friends were; we all sat down together to look and be mesmerized by the activity.
Water Play on the balcony
After our snack, we played on the balcony with the water tub, pails, cups, bowls, balls, and bubbles. It was so much fun! Yes, we made bubbles! We loved making bubbles with our hands and even rubbed them on our arms.
Dancing time
We also had a great time dancing with Erika during the day. Her choice of music was always lovely to dance to, and she taught some moves we could use in certain songs.
Thank you so much, and have a great day!
Lots of love,
All the children from Buds Class
