Hanami!
Good morning! When we arrived there were some friends who already had their smocks on. “Today is spring picnic day. So we need to get ready now, Yaaay!” The weather is so nice so it’s a perfect day for a spring picnic. “Are we ready? Yes, we are!” We started heading to the park. When we arrived at the green area, there were fun things for us to play with. The station games were, play hut, parachute, rings, beanbags, balance beams and bubbles! As soon as we saw all the stations we wanted to start playing but there were no mommies or daddies yet so we came to the circle to wait. “Oh, I see K’s mom!” “Look, R’ mama!” We welcomed our moms and daddies and asked them to join us. P played the Ukulele and sang the morning song with us. Having our moms and daddies make us so happy. It’s time to play! We had a wonderful time with them, the sakura flower is very beautiful. It was just a perfect day for the hanami. Then we headed to the temple to take a group photo. The sakura was in full bloom at the temple. “Cheese!” We took our group photo. We said, “See you later.” to our moms and daddies and we had a little playtime at the temple.
After we came back to school, we were so hungry and some of us were tired, too. We started getting ready for lunch. So our teachers reminded us that it was too early for lunchtime. “Snack?” Lea asked. The teachers told her that we had finished our snack time today. Michael couldn't stop looking at his lunch. Then teachers reminded him again to wait for lunchtime. “We are hungry!” we said to our teachers. “Alright, we can have early lunch after circle time.” They said to us. In circle time, we talked about today’s fun event. Sayaka asked us about our favourite play area today.
S: I like bubble…. This much! *Gestured with her arms*
M: The parachute! Going up!
K: The parachute. Because I like it.
O: Parachute. I like play with mama at the park.
R: Bubbles!
Sayaka: Did you make lots of bubbles?
R: Yes
S: I like the bubbles. I make big bubbles! Like this big!
R: I like bubbles, too. I make small baby bubbles
L: Mommy. Play with mommy. Parachute.
L: Bubbles!
H: Bubbles! I wash my hands with bubbles!

Sayaka mentioned that his sisters also joined today’s event. She asked him about his sister's name.
B: Vienna and Juliet.
A: I like bubbles!
S: Did you like seeing the sakura? What’s the color of sakura?
S: White.
Sayaka told us that we will see more colourful flowers in spring. Then she showed us the book of today. Planting a Rainbow by Lois Ehlert was the title. The book is about introducing a different kinds of flowers and plants in different colours. We could get an idea of the process of growing flowers. Sayaka wondered if we have a chance what colour of flowers we want to have for the garden. “Pink!” “Blue!” “Yellow!” Especially most of us want to grow pink flowers. After that we finished our circle time, we asked the teachers again, if we could have lunchtime. H wanted a game before lunchtime so, we played freeze dance and had early lunchtime. Most of us finished all our lunches! We were seriously hungry! Thank you very much for the wonderful day and see you all tomorrow!
