A Blooming Pakistan Day

Bouquets of Flowers + Painting + “Another One Bites the Dust” Dance Floor

Coming in with a bouquet of flowers in hand that is almost the same size as us was a one of a kind experience. Our teachers blushed upon seeing us shyly handing them the flowers that we brought for them. There were buckets of water prepared out at the balcony, ready to “house” the flowers. It was lovely to see floras of different shades of red, pink, and yellow. It felt like we had our own little flower shop out on our balcony.

We continued working on our “globe” painting together with John. We rolled on paint of the shades of green and yellow to represent the land and flowers of our wonderful earth.

Before settling in for Circle Time, a disco light backdrop was projected on the wall to provide us a different atmosphere as we danced to Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust”.  We grooved and busted out our best moves to the rhythm!

 Valentine Cards and Kebabs

Every day is a celebration of LOVE! We continued working on our Valentine’s card together with Liezel. It was interesting to note how each of us had a preference on how the arrangement of shiny red & pink hearts would be on our cards.

Apart from the cards, we also made Valentine kebabs by folding strips of red & pink paper to form a heart. We then skewered it and poked it through a colander. This activity enabled us to strengthen our fine motor skills by piercing the sticks through the paper hearts and leaves.

Samosa Making

To prepare us for Pakistan Day, L, A & S provided us a set of pretend samosa playdough kit. We enjoyed rolling the samosa dough and putting in “green peas”, “meat”, and “potatoes”.

 Pakistan Day Presentation with A & L

We had a special guest who virtually visited us… it was L’s mom, A! L was dressed in a colorful shalwar kameez, which is a dress proudly worn by women in Pakistan. A shared with us lots of interesting facts about their beautiful country such as their flag and its symbols’ meaning, the amazing food, the sport called “cricket”, and the interesting colorful truck that is commonly driven around Pakistan.

We learned that “Shukriya” is “Thank You” in Urdu, the language of Pakistan. We sang A our “Thank You” song to show how much we enjoyed learning about their country.

After A’s wonderful presentation, we further went on with our discussion about Pakistan. We gave our thoughts and ideas on its flag and colorful truck!

Playing Cricket out in the Park

While out in the park, we had a chance to play cricket . Tamara demonstrated how to play it and we all had a blast taking turns in using the bat to hit the ball.

We hope you all are having a lovely sunny Tuesday so far!

Love,

Buds Class Children
