All Things Snowy & White
Everyone shared fond memories of yesterday’ holiday party that several of the stations from yesterday were repeated today for those of us who weren’t able to join us.
Sparkly Winter Playdough
A few leftover batches of our “Snowman” Playdough Holiday gift were used this morning for us to unleash our creative ideas. Together with playdough were the items noodle foam, fuzzy wires, wool, etc that were included in yesterday’s ball pit.
G thought of using the two round playdough as items to “warm” her cheeks
E was fascinated with the idea of inserting fuzzy wires through noodle foams. She enjoyed the challenge of keeping the wobbly fuzzy wire firm while inserting it. G and W got curious about what E was doing which ended with the three of them encouraging and observing each other do the task.
A got creative and thought of using a strip of yoga mat as a brush
L thought that the strip of yoga mat resembled pasta and pretended to “eat” it
Snowfall Sensory Play
Y bonded with G over the Snowfall Sensory Play station that opened the opportunity for them to communicate and interact with each other. It was wonderful to see how both of them tried to find ways on how to relay their ideas to one another by observing and giving “responsive” facial expressions.
R was pretty amused to find a dog all covered in “snow” and took some time to try to clean it off
Snow Blocks and Blue Tactile Beams Free Play
We used white styrofoams as our blocks for Free Play period this morning to complement the “Snowy White” theme that we have. R showed us his wonderful body coordination and balance by carrying as many pans & pots as he can while balancing himself atop the blue tactile beams.
Y, J, and W took this opportunity to bond and get to know each other better by gathering in a circle to discuss how to arrange and balance their very own “ice structure”. Our teachers are excited to see how Y, J, and W would work together to become next term’s Buds leaders!
While all these were going on, our youngest members N and I were around joining in most activities.
Circle Time
For Circle Time, we played magic tricks with our fingers to the tune of Furns’ “Jangala”. Erika showed us how to make a circle with our fingers by touching the tips of our pointing and thumb fingers. She showed us a “magic trick” wherein when she makes a sudden move, her fingers get interlocked.
W and G tried their best in mastering the magic trick!
Apart from the magic trick, we also had a musical dance session wherein we had to think of ideas on how to incorporate the snow blocks into our dance. Y enjoyed swaying it around, J used it to pretend “Baby Shark” while G used it as a means to balance and be like a gymnast!
We also took a quick walk around the neighborhood to enjoy the beautiful weather.
Love,
Buds Class Children
