Getting ready for our Winter Party
Happy Monday everyone! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! We were so excited to see our friends again and missed our friends that weren’t here on Friday. After we greeted our friends, we sat down with Sayaka to continue our ornament craft or with Nimo to continue our card making for Asahi Yochien. Today, we made our little snowman popsicles! It was a fun little activity where we glued our faces on a white popsicle stick with some buttons and a scarf! Our teachers added a pinch of numeracy by having us count how many buttons we wanted and did some simple addition or subtraction too. After we had the right number of buttons, we used pipe cleaners and wrapped them around our snowman to make a scarf! When we were done with our crafts, we played with our friends at the play area.
We ate our snacks then got ready for the park. We were reading our books waiting for our teachers to start our circle time, but instead we heard a loud alarm and teachers shouting, “Earthquake!”. We quickly tried putting our books away on the shelf, but our teachers told us to put them on the floor and hide under the table. We put on our safety hats then evacuated outside. Our teachers explained to us that even if it is just a drill like today, we need to be serious and listen to our teachers carefully. If we don’t or we are being silly, someone will get hurt and we don’t want that. Our teachers also explained that if we have something like books in our hands, we need to put them down on the floor and quickly get under the table. We can put our books, toys, and snacks, away after the earthquake has gone away, but it won’t be so simple if something falls on us and we get hurt.
When we arrived at Step Park, we saw Buds Class playing there. Our friends all said, “I want to go to the green area and play with Buds Class!”. Our teachers liked that idea, so we joined our little friends in the green area. We had a great time playing tag with all of our friends. Buds had to go home a little earlier than we did so we had some time to play with only Petals friends. Some of our friends wanted to play, “What time is it Mr. Wolf”, but everyone wanted to be wolves. We still found a way to make the game fun and exciting and we all had a great time at the park.
When we got back from the park, we didn’t have Maryna join us today for practice. Instead, Nimo was our dance teacher and did his best remembering the moves Maryna taught us and we practiced a few songs. We also have some song to sing for our Winter Party, so we practiced singing too. All of our friends did an amazing job dancing and singing today!
We are so busy getting ready for our Winter Party, we lose track of time and the day just zips by! We had another lovely day at school! Have a great evening everyone and we will see you all again tomorrow!
Love,
Petals
